Simply put, it won't. As a matter of fact, it will likely get much worse.
We'll find out this Saturday if coach Beaty has learned anything in regards to play calling. Looking at Bender being listed as the starter for this weekend honestly has me doubtful.

I see more and more draw plays on the horizon.............

I see more and more unnecessary timeouts being used.

I believe Beaty is a graduate of the Andy Reid School of Clock Management.

Agreed. No time like right after 2 consecutive significant offensive improvement games vs Big12 competition to fire the O-coordinator.

Still think Beaty had underlying motives, as I believe Meacham would have been the interim HC if Long showed Beaty the door this week or next, effectively securing his job til the end of the year.

I mean come on, at this point Beaty HAS TO REALIZE he's dead man walking

I don't think Meacham being gone secures anything. If they are going to let Beaty go in the middle of the year they are going to do it. It does not matter who is around to step in. They could just as easily make Bowen the interim coach. Interim coach means nothing.

I think Beaty does know he is a dead man walking, and if he is going to go out he wants to have his hand on the wheel as much as possible.

Truth be told Beaty would be better served if his hand was off the wheel as much as possible!

I don't think Beaty cares who the interim will be. This a just a desperation move to prevent there from being an interim.

beaty, tho not a complete imbocile(but close) or good football coach(not close) does understand that making a measly $100,000-150,000 per loss is FAR better than having to go through the money grubbing lawyers to get the cash after the fact. I agree they could just as easily make Bowen Interim HC. Been there tried that. Below average, poor defensive coordinator that got a token interview to be head coach to no avail, so naming him again would just be an exercise in semantics and futility and in my opinion, I don't think Long plays that grade school game. I think Beaty pretty much knew if the boot was put to A$$, Meacham would be the guy, so to protect himself he removed the problem from the solution. look at the rest of the assistants:

Who on that staff would you be comfortable with even handing an interim to? I see none, except Bill, maybe.

I will say if they announced any of the following as Interim Head Coach to replace Beaty til the end of the season, I would be pretty ecstatic:

1. Barney Fife
2. Barney Rubble
3. Barney The Purple Dinosaur
4. Bernie Sanders
5. Elmer Fudd
6. Foghorn Leghorn
7. Rip Van Winkle
8. Any one of the 3 Stooges
9. Tinker Bell
10. Richard Simmons
11. Madonna
12. Cher
13. Sister Theresa

It's a fairly prestigious list, but when it comes to KU football and head coaching hires I would think Bernie Sanders would shoot right to the top. H3ll,no interview required for Bernie if he wants the job

Nice list. I could go with any of your choices because NONE of them use the word "DUDE". whistle

I had to add a couple of people to be "diverse". So hence the group grew by a few.

Foghorn Leghorn would be my choice. "Anybody get the number off that truck".
