Taylor is one thing Hawklin never saw coming, and admittedly still doesnt get it.

Explain.

I didn't think he was gonna be great, either. But then we started hearing how he was the fastest player on the team. And then he started scoring. And then he started jumping.

I think he's a star.

Along what LVC said.

Kid has speed, and can get up to finish. I think hes great. I think hes going to be great. You know I was guaranteed to be one of his first supporters. I do not see him as a first round pick. I think he was out of control a lot of the time. I thought he was the most selfish player weve had on the floor in a while. I cant remember his shooting last season at all.

All the flaws in his game can be changed. I just havent thought of him and 1st round pick ever. Shooting and passing are usually important for that in the NBA. Hes certainly not finishing at the rim in the land of giants.

I don't want to bother tracking it down, but I know at some point I started to think that if we made a championship run he'd be gone.

I never thought that before the start of last season. But his physical gifts are undeniable. What a steal. Thanks, Kelvin!

I thought the issue was not about Henry per se, but whether you consider a SF part of the front court or the back court.

For the record I think of them as part of the back court.

Word, I guess subtlety is not my forte...

I agree, unless you think that the frontcourt includes the perimeter, the 3 is, particularly in Self's system, part of the backcourt.

Taylor never got 'potential first round pick' press until he led the USA team to gold in the U18 Worlds. I've always liked him. It took him half a year to get his legs under him last season, but he often finished at the rim toward the end of the season. He got a couple of sick blocks as well, like the full court run and denial at the rim after getting his pocket picked. I was shocked and excited at his hops during Late Night last year, and confused by him subsequently choking at the rim a few weeks later. I guess all the practicing took his hops away temporarily. His main problem was getting charges called on him over and over and over last year. If he can correct that, he might actually get drafted after a deep tournament run. The scouts seem to like what he brought to the table at the Worlds.
