Should I take his 42 minutes to mean anything? Is it a sign he might make that team?

So WTF is this?:

"Cavaliers guard Russell Robinson played a whopping 42 minutes for the Cavaliers on Saturday, finishing with nine points, eight assists, and five turnovers

If you're not sure who Russell Robinson is, you're not alone. He played for Kansas in college, then went to Turkey before landing in the D-League last season. Don't give him a second thought."

I demand that website be burned to the ground
IMMEDIATELY.

Note to website... there's probably a reason he played a "whopping 42 minutes"...

Remember - this person you're not giving a second thought to beat out every other person that could have been subbed in for him for a "whopping 42 minutes"...

Idiots.

My experience sez a guy who gets that many minutes is on the borderline. If he were in, he'd play less; if he were out, he'd play less. They want to see what he's got.

While I agree that it is a dbag comment, to be fair, it's a fantasy sports website. Even if Russell makes the team he's probably not going to get a lot of PT or put up enough points to make him relevant in the fantasy leagues. Thus, the guys comment of don't bother picking him up for your fantasy team. That's not to say he sucks, just not a great choice for your team

Dear Rotoworld,

When evaluating Russell Robinson's contribution,
never look at his line.

Look, instead, at the line of the guys he guarded.

You see, when you take the other guys point guard out of
the game ... oh, never mind.

Hire basketball people.

Fantasy site, the critique is whether to add him to your team or not. So it's short and harsh.

Fans seem to think it's between barrett and Robinson. It would be great to see a 5th guy from our NC team make the League.

Most of them are pulling for Robinson because of his size/defensive capabilities.

Defense would be killer. Steal, throw ball in the air, Lebron comes down with the hammer. Works great.

I don't see how you can go wrong with having a defensive stopper for your 14th guy. Perfect situational player.

Hes also made much improvements in shooting from NBA in the DL. It helps, seeing as he would only be shooting open shots.

Russ Rob's stats to date (page 12)

Vote for Russ Rob to earn the 15 spot

I think I saw a "vote for RR" thread, so apologize if a duplicate. He's currently killing the competition, earning 66% of the vote.

Too bad.

It seems odd to me that they seem so certain, especially given how adamant their fans are that Barrett and Karl are just warm bodies. Reading their board, the fan base seemed to have a pretty good handle on the competition.

Hopefully he has shown well enough to latch on somewhere else or in Europe.

How is Barret even a thought? He's tiny plus has taken a few years off and hasn't played. I think I would take a guy with good PG size with the ability to play defense of Barret. They aren't going to need a guy that deep on the roster to score so seems like the shooting guard, Karl, shouldn't be in the discussion either. To me, it's a no-brainer. But then again, I'm just a 22 year old college kid and not an NBA coach, lol.
