Doesn't look like there are any recruits at Late Night this year.

None.

Zero.

Just like we weren't going to sign any 5-star recruits last year.

Barnes was the most animated of those there. He got into the alma mater.

We signed Xavier Henry and apparently there were recruits at the game.

Let's get this season going!

Henry is going to Kentucky.

Or Europe.

I can't remember which.

Wow, some of you guys really like to clutter-up these boards with your smartass replies.

Considering that we had some of the highest-rated players in the classes of '10 and '11 at Late Night last night, I think it's worthwhile to discuss any observations of the recruits that were there.

I'm sure the LJW will have an article or two to come in the next few days once the recruits head back home from their visits.

Anyways ...

Barnes, Selby, Lamb, Woolridge, Turner ... who were their hosts? Do the older guys (Sherron, Cole) host recruits or is it typically the younger guys, like Xavier, Elijah, etc.?

what is the book on Turner? I know he is a de-commit from ASU and is "checking out schools". Seems like if we can get Lamb and either Selby or Knight, then we would be focusing totally on getting a bigs -- Barnes in included.

BTW, how 'bout the twins last night! Know it was just a pick-up game. But they showed a lot more shooting touch than last year.

And so much happier now that I'm better informed.

The videostream was driving me nuts, (no doubt it was better in person), so I watched (mainly just the scrimmage) on KC Metro Sports, in-between the antics of the California Angels. I didn't hear KC Metro mention or feature the recruiting prospects, but I didn't watch every second.

I watched the stream and didn't see the recruits at all. The stream did teach me an appreciation for the play-by-play announcer.

Metro Sports had Nate Bukaty with Sensei, I mean, Greg Gurley, but so much of the time they were only joking around, apparently oblivious to the gravity of the situation.

Geezer, I couldn't help but notice that you've ignored my question/plea.

What if I would promise -- unlike some of the other posters around here (<cough> hasbeen <cough>) -- that I won't try to make a run at Minhin when you're not looking.

Would you adopt me then?

Oh but about the recruits. I want us to get Perry Ellis. he makes nice wash-n-wear microfiber slacks.

I guess I'll be more specific.

1) What was the crowd reaction when they walked in? Cheers? Chants?
2) Were there signs/fatheads?
3) How did the recruits react when they walked in? Smiles/acknowledgements?
4) Skit/video/scrimmage reactions?
5) Post-scrimmage crowd/recruit mingling/chanting?
6) Who seemed most/least into it?

I probably shouldn't spend time trying to figure out what these young kids are thinking, but it is the lifeblood of the program. I can't help it.

Huge ovation for the recruits. This is the least emotional bunch of recruits in memory. Barnes is the only one that showed much emotion and that isn't saying much although he did do the alma mater. I was shocked that Woolridge just sat there.

What about Tokoto? Was he there, as planned?

He's only a Soph so it would be a while efore we see him in crimson and blue, but he appears to be on track to be a quality recruit.

I always think its a good sign when a Soph wants to come to Late Night. Worked out well with Cole.
