First time I heard a KU athlete discuss his Facebook page was Cornish in 2005. W/ just 15 MBB players and 100 football players and the fact that the LJW is suppossed to be the end all/be all in KU Sports, don't you think the senior columnist could have the interns read the various Facebook accounts and write a report? Come on Keegan, dig a little bit. That column today was terrible.

Actually, no, he's not a reporter.

newspaper that reports on KU Athletics. Either way, I expect him to know more than he apparently does. I read the LJW online daily specifically because it's suppossed to be the end all/be ball on KU Football. Apparently, its columnist don't know much more on the subject than I do.

JB... if you were editor of KUSports.com, I would pay for the content.

I think he does a good job. What the hell do you want him to do differently?
Be a fricking homer and sugar coat everything. Hell that's what Max Falkenstien is for.

Shouldn't you recuse yourself from this discussion? You've already claimed how you are friends with the Simons clan. Like you're going to be objective about Keegan.

Keegan a reporter? Hell, he can barely write.

He is a columnist and not a reporter. Columnist's give opinions and stir the pot. Reporters gather facts and relay them (theoretically without opinion).

Has he covered the football side of these incidents?

Man, you're on a 5-10-style crusade, aren't you? Difference, of course, is you have a point and aren't a complete jackass.

Of course Keegan hasn't covered the football side. That would require someone (him, maybe?) to actually do, you know, work. Because no one was "made available" for him to torment with idiot questions.

And that, I think, reflects a personality difference between Coaches Mangino and Self. Coach Mangino suffers attention. Coach Self manipulates it. He understands he is the show, and he uses it.

I'm not sure what he is trying to cover. His main beef seems to be the he seems to think KU should just open up anytime he wants access.

He'll take it out on BB knowing Mangino has been and always will be a pretty closed door to player access.

Very well-put. And both styles work, although I'm not sure Mangino's would if KU football was as high-profile as hoops. I mean, Belichick makes it work, and that's the only example I can really think of straight off.

Also, Keegan would probably need directions to find the football facilities.
