Davis is not in the same league as Reesing...well not yet anyway. He definatly has the talent to eventually get there but he still has some work to do.

That being said, when I saw Davis pay his first game as an Eagle last year, the first thought that popped into my head was "dang, this kid looks kinda like Reesing."

Right now Reesing is one of the top 5 QBs in the country while Davis is somewhere from 15-25.

Davis is still a very good QB. Especially compared to what we had to deal with before he arrived on campus.

If he pans out as well as Reesing has, you're going to have an enormous amount of fun watching him play over the next couple years.

No, he doesn't. I'm tired of this whole "Southern Miss isn't as good as Kansas yet, but we will be" schtick. It's just not true. Seen this in basketball hundreds of times. Is Southern Miss good enough to beat Kansas on Saturday? Yes. But is Davis going to be as good as Reesing? Never.

Why not? He has good size at 6'2" and 208 lbs. He runs a 4.6. He has a fairly strong arm with really good touch. He seems to get better and better everytime he steps on the field. What makes you think he may not end up being one of the best QBs in the country?

Not saying he will, just saying that he has a lot of potential.

By the measurables, Davis is already a better QB than Reesing. That's sort of why he'll never be close. Reesing is unique. As Ricky Rubio might say, Todd Reesing isn't like anyone else.

Since that held back Brett Favre

Dan LeFevour plays fore CMU and he's one of the best. Case Keenum plays for UH and he's one of the best.

No doubt Reesing is special. Many USM fans believe Davis is special as well.

Look I'm not saying that Davis will be better than Reesing. I'm just saying that he has the talent and smarts to become on of the best QB's in the country, which is what Reesng is.

Good point.

"Reesing throws 4 TD passes and Kansas smashes Central Michigan 52-7"

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recap?gid=200709010020

"Central Michigan’s Dan LeFevour, who threw for 3,031 yards and 26 touchdowns last year, never got untracked against a Kansas team which looked vastly improved from the unit that ranked 119th in pass defense last year. By the time two-way star Aqib Talib beat double coverage and hauled in Reesing’s 49-yard touchdown pass to make it 35-0 with 3:07 left in the first half, the Jayhawks had outgained the Chippewas 333 yards to 139.

LeFevour finished 19 of 37 for 172 yards and one TD."

One game? 4 years of breaking records and 1 game tells the story?

Well, I mean, kind of. It showed that the guy you hold up as a shining example of a great QB in a terrible conference got blasted against real competition. I guess the best way to put it is this: Todd Reesing wouldn't go 19-37 with one TD against Kansas.
