Quite the mystery down in Waco. We may need clarification from bubear -- is this grounds for expulsion?

Source

Baylor lost to UConn this weekend—yes, football—but the campus isn't really concerned about the Bears' gridiron woes. They'd much rather talk about a girl who might have stolen beer out of some frat guy's cooler while tailgating.

I just find it interesting, given that there are specific (and strictly enforced) "wet" tailgating areas at Baylor games, and the censoring of the board post about it.
Baylor revoked a fraternity's charter because members posed in a Playboy "Girls of the Big 12" issue with a woman wearing a bikini. And it threatens to expel any student who dares to pose for said issue.

It's a breach of tailgate etiquette to steal beer, especially because it would have been a bigger breach of tailgate etiquette to refuse to share the beer if one asks politely. In fact, true tailgate hospitality requires one to offer a beer before one is asked.

But ... beer at a Baptist university? I'm shocked. No wonder the thread disappeared. Or that it generated 8 pages of comments.

I always heard you should take two Baylor grads on your camping trip. If you bring just one, he'll drink all the beer.

Those kooky Southern Baptists! I thought they were so well known for their happy-go-lucky relaxed easy going nature down there?

The girl is actually my neighbor. The thread was removed on BFans because her and her parents sought legal counsel (although she has no legal ground to stand on). She has deleted her facebook profile...The guy that was with her already tossed her under the bus by admitting that she "knew of a place to get beer that was left in a truck". Anyways, check the TexAg thread, hilarious photoshop work....

If true, do you have any idea how valuable that knowlege (where she lives) is?

At the very least you can blackmail her into cleaning your place at least once a week..........

So, a girl gets caught stealing beers out of a cooler in the back of a pick-up truck of a neighboring tailgater while tailgating herself and photos of her caught in the act get posted on a message board and fans chime in with all sorts of commentary and the reaction by the girl and her family is to get all lawyered(it's a word! I'm sure of it! ) up and threaten the host of the message board(I assume this is what happened since how else would the hosting site know she's hired legal counsel and wasn't happy with the message board thread)?

Ahhhh, it just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. That's so heart warming. This is the laid back easy going nature I was talking about in my first posting too.

As far as I could tell, nobody was threatening legal action against her, were they? It was just fuel for some tailgating feud and message board fodder, was it not? Then again, with the happy-go-lucky relaxed nature of things down there, it probably could result in some sort of expulsion for not sharing your beer, right?

Thanks for the update, bubear. The more I learn about this "incident," the better it gets.
