Maybe Lew will take advantage and start selling extra tickets. Half price tickets for just the 2nd half of the games after students leave.

Ok. I'l start.

There were a lot of empty seats at the start of the Duke game. At least it appeared that way on tv.

I know, I know.....11am too early, yada yada. But maybe the team fed off that too (and thus, they started slowly)?

Probably reaching, but who knows.

A definite correlation between crowd energy and team performance - but can be negative, if too much ...

I'll bet it's not nearly as strong as you think.

They showed a shot of the east side at kickoff -- there was a bunch of empty seats at the top of the visitors section, but it filled in later.
Perhaps the 11 a.m. start and the late-arriving crowd had some effect on the Duke opening drive, but I think the coaches and players would say it was all on them.

I'll take a crack at this topic.

IMO I think everyone forgot how early 11 AM games were. And yeah KU was just playing Duke but once conference games start and there will prob be some 11 am games, everyone will be ready for sure.

So what's the general consensus out here...Southern Miss more or less dangerous than CU, ISU, KSU?

So in the order of games you're worried about losing, Southern Miss is higher than Colorado? Not me.

If we were playing all those teams at home, Southern Miss would be more dangerous than any of them.

ISU we play in Lawrence, so my statement stands.

Southern Miss in Lawrence is still more dangerous than the kittens in Mancrappy.

Colorado by the time we play them in Boulder might get things figured out and be more dangerous than Southern Miss in Lawrence. It's possible that Cody Hawkins will not be CU's starting QB by the time we play in Boulder. If CU could find a way to control the ball on offense to give their defense a rest, they might actually be able to compete. KU should win this game anyway, but it's reasonable that CU will be more dangerous in Boulder than Southern Miss in Lawrence.

I strongly disagree with this. Any conference road game (and especially a rivalry road game) is more dangerous than Southern Miss at home. Powers such as Boise, Utah, and other like programs excluded, any home game against a non-BCS opponent is less worrisome than a conference road game.

The big 12 teams might be more talented that So Miss but So Miss have been to bowl games constantly and have played in big games in recent years.

Amd i'm not saying that i'm not nervous about the CU game I just think that So Miss is no push over like everyone thinks they are.

Didn't verify this, but my memory says that KU has two wins in Boulder in the last 14 years. 1995 and 2007
But looking past Southern Miss is also dangerous. Take care of business this week and then enjoy the bye, because they have eight straight games starting Oct. 10.
