I'm all for aiming high, but I'm also a realist. We COULD make a run like 2007, but more than likely Dallas or San Diego would be a very attainable, and acceptable, goal.

I'd be good with the Gator Bowl. I live in the area and know a member of their selection committee that would allow me to get into the practices and on the field prior to the game.

stevemize,

Big 12 Can't go to the Gator Bowl this year... Nebraska went last year. Big 12 and Big East? alternates with that bowl.

Sorry steve, I wasn't sure, I was just going off of Big12sports.com (This is from last year though)

Quote:

2008-09 Bowl Agreements

The Big 12 has always assured its teams are able to participate in some of the top bowl games at the conclusion of each regular season. There will be no change in that situation for the league's 13th year.

In addition to its membership in the Bowl Championship Series, the Big 12 will have agreements with seven other bowl games in place for 2008-09. Last season, the Big 12 had eight squads take part in postseason competition. It marked the eighth straight year at least seven of its teams have played in a bowl. Overall, the conference has sent 83 teams to bowl games in its 12-year history.

Again this season, the Big 12 has eight bowl slots guaranteed. The Conference is partnered with nine bowls. However the arrangement with the Gator Bowl is for it to select a Big 12 team twice over a four-year period. In the two years in which the Gator does not select a Big 12 team, the Sun Bowl will.

If they changed it since last year, then by all means, Flordia is open for possibility as well.

No need to apologize, I was just going off what the friend said to me and what teams have been invited recently. I would rather us go to a BCS game anyway.

I think this Lesmerises guy must have let his 4-year-old vote for him this week. Whoa!

Let's go to the Cotton. Much more prestigious, much easier to get to, and who cares if we can recruit in El Paso? Let's go to Dallas. . . .

Look for the Cotton to become one of the elite bowls again when the next BCS shuffle is made--now that the game is being moved to J. Jones' new super-stadium.

I think it's rediculous for fans to be projecting KU into particular bowl games at this point.

Our goal, and rightfully so, should be to Win the North. If we accomplish that goal, we will then be one game away from a much bigger goal than most here are willing to consider.

That's why it's always best to simply focus on the next game on the schedule. Southern Mississippi is the next obstacal. Let's get another sellout, pack the house, and have this be the loudest game we've ever had.

Anyone know how many tickets are left for this one?

Thanks, Coach. I was definitely looking ahead, and I'm glad you got to me before I allowed it to affect my performance as a fan.

I agree. Lets win the North and whatever happens beyond that is gravy.
