How much cash? $3.99 so Jim Hendry could buy himself an Angus Burger at McDonalds? The Royals hopefully threw in a bag of orange baseballs, a half dozen used Gatorade cups, and a pine tar rag to sweeten the deal.

Sure it can. I was watching the Flubs yesterday and they mentioned all these guys who have and don't have "options" in their contracts. Freel was a guy who I guess they couldn't "option" back to the minors. The Cubs had to pay the Royals to take him off their hands - too funny!

What on earth do the Royals need Bloomquist II for? Is Moore going to chop shop them under the stadium, then put the best parts back together as some kind of uber-utility man named Ryllie Freelquist? Seriously, what's the freaking point of this move?

I was listening to 610 yesterday and they were saying that Freel's salary for this year is being covered by the Reds and the Cubs so the Royals get him for free this year. I hope he can pan out and play some good center field

Hopefully, it's a sign that more deals are coming. We need a blockbuster trade that involves moving a bunch of players...something along the lines of what Detroit and San Diego did several years ago. Jayson Stark on Petro's show today did think the Royals might be moving Bannister.

Bannister might not be the greatest but I like him and he has been one of our better starters this year. If we do deal him I don't know what the heck we could get for him. Also we should sign pedro for the second half to take his place. Nice stop gap and we could catch lightning in a bottle.
