Baseball fans, help the University of Kansas Club Baseball Team. The team, formed of players who attempted to walk on to KU or decided not to play collegiate baseball, has 34 games scheduled this spring in the Central Plains Conference of the National Club Baseball Association (www.clubbaseball.org). The team receives no funding from the school and must pay for uniforms, umpires, field use, hotels, and all other expenses to run a baseball team.

To try and help with the costs, they are having a Trivia Night next Friday night, March 2nd, at 7 p.m. at the Kansas Memorial Student Union. A Table of eight costs only 120 dollars, or an individual ticket is only 15 dollars with all proceeds going directly to fund the Jayhawks season, which opens the following day with a pair of games at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. against Iowa State at Ice Field.

Trivia Nights are becoming popular in cities such as St. Louis and will soon make their way to Kansas City and Lawrence. Tables of eight compete against each other in areas such as sports, presidents, geography, music, television shows, Kansas-Missouri Rivalry, etc. Prizes will be awarded to the teams that finish in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Also, soda and snacks will be provided.

So get your friends together and help out a good group of KU students who are trying to continue playing the game they love. You may enter as a table, or individually and you will be placed at a table. A small silent auction will also be held.

Contact team president B.J. Rains at jayhawkclubbaseball@yahoo.com or 314-898-7800 for more information or to reserve your table. The team is also looking for sponsors, so let them know if your business is interested in a partership.
