I know it's old news by today's standards, but I thought John Zook deserved his own remembrance thread on here. He was a great Jayhawk and a great football player. Had an excellent career in the NFL as well. I used to have a big poster with him and Bobby Douglas in may bedroom.

Thought it would be good to take time out to remember one of the all time great KU football players. One of only 4 consensus All Americans in KU history.

Agree, JZ was a GREAT football player! Too bad our Zook brothers weren't all around the same age....they would have made some forget about the Sooners Selmon bros. Dean Z was a stud on the 73 squad and baby bro Dale Z was said to have been the best of the three....had a terrible weight lifting accident as I recall and never played a down for us.

I had forgotten Dean was his brother. Didn't know about Dale.

The Zook brothers sure were fun to root for way back when...
