I'll be the first to admit that there's a lot about sports that I don't know. But I have and do have a wide interest across the years. I played in several sports from the 7th grade through high school, being a four year Letterman in track and three years in football. I've enjoyed auto racing. I was listening to the '55 Indianapolis 500 when two time winner and leader of the '55 race, Bill Vukovich's car went air borne on the 2nd turn and he was killed. I've also enjoyed jalopy racing, rodeos, was a NY Giant baseball and football fan from 1954 through many years, Willie Mays was my baseball hero, remember the football Giants stopping the Bears at the one foot line for four plays in a row, have always loved track and field, have followed the Olympics for many years, was watching on TV when the USA hockey team upset the Russians in the 1980 Olympics. I've soured some on pro sports in recent years as many owners and players are all too greedy, am quite interested in the Chiefs once again with Mahomes leading. I could say a lot more, but I'm far beyond just a KU fan concerning sports, though they are at the top of my list.

Lol 7 man football??? And a fast 100 yd dash in your neck of the woods was probably 16 seconds. Most frustrating was having to get the basketball out of the peach basketball in dem rip roaring 21-18 barnburners...

Always 11 man. My senior year we were ranked # 1 in our class in the state until we lost to # 2 by one point. We had some from our school win at state in track. Our basketball team even went to state. I may be old, but come on, peach baskets!

But there was just 2 teams in your Class 1A football back then...leather helmets???? That might explain a lot.

Back then it was Class B which would translated to Class 2A today. No, there were at least three teams in the state. We were too tough to wear helmets.

Ha! I walked into that with my helmet comment. As much as I admired Wilt's on court ability and achievements, I greatly disliked his off court braggadocio talk and behavior towards women.

I figured that out mathematically once...when he claimed he been with that many women he was about 45 years old. That means he had to average diking 3 women a day since age 15...lol...he da man

I was Wilt status before you....but you used to be able to change that area to whatever you want...so I am a Gangsta hence the name ..I put em in body bags and zip em up...lol
