This post should put me at the Wilt Chamberlain post ranking. l made my first post on 01/18/08. I posted very little, simply enjoying the many posts by others. I did think it would be neat to have Wilt's name as a part of my Display Name, but figured I'd never reach it. I only made one post in 2014 and had less than 300 at that point. Then in 2015 I shifted gears and started posting a lot more and finally hit the Max Falkenstien level. That was great as I've always enjoyed listening to Max when he announced the games and then was the color man. I knew to reach the Wilt level, I'd have to double the total amount of my posts. Figured that would be a long way down the road, if I ever made it.

Part of why I'm excited to reach this level is that I consider Wilt to be the greatest basketball player ever and among the greatest athletics ever. He would have been a top notch decathlonist, which is an excellent measure of a great athletic. I think there's a very good reason why the Ali fight never happened. Wilt knocked Clyde Lovellette out with a one foot punch. Wilt had very long arms. Not sure Ali could have handled him and might have been embarrassed. We'll never know.

Nice to reach the milestone after such a great football victory last night. But KU basketball is of greater interest and so it is fitting to post this on the basketball board.

It must not happen automatically. I have 10 pages of 99 posts each equaling 990 posts, plus 10 on page 11 making it 1,000. This one should be 1,001.

John Denver Lyrics
"Tumbling Tumbleweeds"

(Drifting along with a tumbling tumbleweeds)
See them tumbling down pledging their love to the ground
Lonely but free I'll be found drifting along with a tumbling tumbleweeds
Cares of the past are behind nowhere to go but I'll find
Just where the trail will wind drifitng along with a tumbling tumbleweeds
I know when night has gone that a new world's born at dawn
I'll keep rolling along deep in my heart is a song
Here on the range I belong drifting along with a tumbling tumbleweeds
(I'm a roving cowboy riding all day long tumbleweeds around me sing their lonely song)
Nights underneath the prairie moon I'll ride along and sing a tune
I'll keep rolling along deep in my heart is a song
Here on the range I belong drifting along with a tumbling tumbleweeds
(Drifting along with a tumbling tumbleweeds)

The only basic difference in the lyrics is Denver added the last four lines. The song was actually written by Bob Nolan in 1930.

He, He. Yes, I could share a ton about Wilt, but I get it, you don't want a 50,000 word accounting. I will say that I believe he is the most under rated, under appreciated basketball player ever by the modern pundits. He did such great feats that many today won't even believe them. He was one of a kind.

Some say he was kind of an asssshole...but yes he was under appreciated. I always thought he was too good to come back to AFH all those years until he finally did for the 50th anniversary game of AFH . In actuality it was because he was embarrassed he couldn't get us the 57 title...

Yes, he felt that the KU fans blamed him for that, which wasn't the case. He was overwhelmed at the reception he received.
