Does anyone know if Herbert is using the 4 game rule to redshirt and grad transfer?

Time will tell. Sux, but wouldn't blame him.
Les should have had a sit down with every player who hadn't used a redshirt and asked if they would mind doing it. That's how you get your scholly numbers up to 85. For example, if Prox hasn't used his RS, mention to him to go that route.

If that was his plan why didn’t he play last game?

Word is he left the team while in Fort Worth.

Don't know all the details, so not sure why it went down like that. Though, have also heard it demoralized the team quite a bit to find out right before kickoff he had left.

Thats crazy he left the team while in Fort Worth! Talk about quitting on your team. Especially being a team captain.

I'm betting he received somebody advice. He's an NFL caliber running back, but I don't know that he's going to grab a spot on a top ten team.

more than likely a coach "contacted" and "recruited" him by detailing what it would be like to play for the new team as a grad transfer next year.... the whole "transfer portal" is completely out of control.

Its basically a new one year NFL combine tryout....

It looks like Herbert had this all planned out. He probably had to play a few games during the season so he could hang onto his scholarship and graduate and then take advantage of the grad transfer rule.

There are a lot of reason for Transfers, such as Manny Miles and Ben Miles, but 98% are not for NFL attempts.

Deondre Francois and Asa Martin's Transfer story are interesting if you want to Google.

From what little I've heard it's sounding more and more like Herbert F'ed up in how he thought this would all go down. Either got some bad advice or didn't think things through as thoroughly as he maybe should have.

I'm still not sure what his exact intentions were though.

Ice cream over s-Herbert anytime. He’s a gutless, no account team captain that quit on his team after years of lying to the team family and coaches. Any questions?

There's a difference between transferring, and the 5th year Graduate Transfer. I was referring to the 5th year situation...
