They’re going with the “partisan” impeachment process argument. The Dems apparently failed to convince any House or Senate Republican moral cowards to Not be cowards or blind and deaf to all of the evidence of Trump’s corruption as well as blind and deaf to the fact that not one piece of exculpatory evidence was produced. Therefore those acting in bad faith are arguing essentially that because of their bad faith In fairly judging the overwhelming evidence the whole matter was partisan.

As a say it’s up to the voters to end this.

I think I recall on of them noting that the prosecution did not produce one piece of evidence that gave room for an acquittal which just proved that the prosecution has all along beens looking for a conviction. Not sure why you would prosecute if you thought an acquittal was in order but there you have it, it's all partisan, impeachment is a purely partisan political event.

Tricky Dick Nixon was just born 50 years too soon.

Are they that Trump has sex with toddlers and Bolton has tapes?

Sorry, not really an abuse of power and even the Dem said you can’t necessarily be impeached for criminal activity

The new standard of quality..."fast and easy".

We don't need no stinking witnesses to acquit.

“Just because actions meet a standard of impeachment does not mean it is in the best interest of the country to remove a President from office,” Marco Rubio said.

It is official, tiny has pulled down the pants of the entire trumpublican party in front of the entire world and dared them to tell him to stop and they never flinched, they rolled over and said, "thank you sir may I have another".

There is only pantywaste unprincipled conservatism left in America. They are all terrified of the village idiot, because he might say something bad about them. The word coward is not derisive enough for them, they are something lesser than that.

Since everything is all fair and equal, and it requires 2/3 majority to convict, I assume it also takes 2/3 majority to acquit.
Amirite?

On the other board more seething meltdowns over its best-natured poster’s hilarious tongue in cheek screeds about his job.

As to the response to the worst abuse of presidential power in U S history abetted by an entire political party’s attempt to cover it up? .... meh

Something seems really broken about that.

Between the numerous extremist judiciary lifetime appointments and strides in gerrymandering the Repubs will not be riding off quietly into their sunset with one election loss, and the jury is still out on that one.

You left out voter suppression but yes, I am sadly afraid you are correct about long term effects on our nation.

I just watched an in depth, detailed explanation of the Iowa caucus results. It succeeded in thoroughly confusing me. Now I'm seriously worried about our election process and it's vulnerabilities.
The two things I did get kind of clear is it's producing a close finish and Biden is not part of that.

Any truth to the rumor that the reason that we haven't heard from brow-furrowing Sen. Ben Sasse in this whole impeachment thing is that he accidentally locked himself inside the Deep Thinkin' Moral Ponderin' Den at his Lincoln home?
