Sarah Sanders hopes her legacy will be having been transparent and honest.

That's like me hoping my legacy will be having been Holy Roman Empress Maria Theresa of Austria.

The new republican/tiny party provided a lot of content for the list. They are remaking Merica in his tiny likeness. The cultural heft embodied in this list is reason for us all to be proud boys (and girls if they know their place).

The list assembled by Fred Shapiro, an associate director at the library, is an annual update to “The Yale Book of Quotations,” which was first published in 2006. Unlike some past updates, this year’s list happens to feature quotes only from Americans.

“They are intended to reflect the culture of our time and often it’s quotes that are not admirable but quotes that are silly or negative in some way,” Shapiro said. “In our current world political scene, the United States maybe dominates that kind of quotation.”

___

THE LIST

1. “Truth isn’t truth.” — Rudy Giuliani, interview on “Meet the Press,” Aug. 19.

2. “I liked beer. I still like beer.” — Brett Kavanaugh, U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee testimony on his Supreme Court nomination, Sept. 27.

3. “While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.” — Sanofi drug company, in a tweet responding to Roseanne Barr’s blaming of their product Ambien in explaining a tweet that led ABC to cancel her show, May 30.

4. “We gather to mourn the passing of American greatness, the real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the sacrifice he gave so willingly, nor the opportunistic appropriation of those that live lives of comfort and privilege while he suffered and served.” — Meghan McCain, eulogy for John McCain, Sept. 1.

5. “We’re children. You guys, like, are the adults. You need to take some action and play a role. Work together, come over your politics and get something done.” — David Hogg, a survivor of the Parkland, Florida, school shooting, in a CNN interview, Feb. 15.

6. ”(I am) not smart, but genius ... and a very stable genius at that!” — President Donald Trump, in a tweet, Jan. 6.

7. “You don’t have to agree with Trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone.” — Kanye West, in a tweet, April 25.

8. “Our country is led by those who will lie about anything, backed by those who will believe anything, based on information from media sources that will say anything.” — James Comey, in a tweet, May 23.

9. “I have just signed your death warrant.” — Judge Rosemarie Aquilina, addressing former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar upon sentencing him to up to 175 years in prison for sexual assault, Jan. 24.

10. “If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd! And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.” — Rep. Maxine Waters, in remarks at a rally in Los Angeles, June 23.

Could there be a more fitting coda for this Republican House?

House Republicans were set to hold a hearing today to trash the minimum wage.
Now Politico is reporting the hearing was postponed because homophobic blog posts by one of the GOP witnesses came to light -- calling to "tax and regulate homosexual acts."

It doesn't get more trump republican than that. I can't wait to see the presidential library when it is built. It is going to rank up there with the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage MO as far as cultural icons.

Hey, maybe they could share the same site? They would both be on the way to Branson and an obvious stop for the bus tours coming down from Nebraska heading to the shows and outlet malls. Two religious experiences in one day for the true believers.

For the sake of economy you need only say “Republican” or “Trump” not “Trump Republican.” The link is assumed.

trumpublicans hate government overreach, but government reacharounds are an accommodation of the new reality.

They are one and the same now. Knowing that trump likes to see his name on everything, as a sign of brand respect, I will go with the combined trumpublican because I think it better represents the state of the party right now.

much respect

Remember all those minutes ago, when we cared about this?

O'course, that's when it was proof of...well...something.

The paid off broads for sex disclosed by Trump? Then have a new erection in November, 2 years ago, would be nice as well.

I get it ... getting caught cheating in a campaign and then really having no choice but a do-over renders the original crime, well, meh.
