KU has hired Luke Meadows as the new Offensive Line coach he was last at Eastern Michigan, but has worked with new Kansas Offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey before at Southern Miss

Sounds like a solid hire....he's worked with Coach Lindsey before...should be a good thing

I heard Gary Barnett on 810 say he talked to Miles last week and Miles told him he was going to hire two solid coordinators and 8 lights out recruiters for rest of staff.

Haven't heard much about Meadows recruiting chops but word on Jackson is he's an outstanding recruiter.

I liked Ricker and thought he did a good job with our OL this season, but Meadows also looks like a solid coach. I don't know much about him at all, but hopefully he's a really good recruiter as KU has had issues over the past 10 to 12 years or so of getting good OL recruits. We've gotten some, but not enough to build a consistently good OL or anywhere close to that really.

Quality depth has been a real issue. I was really disappointed when they cancelled the spring game this year because there weren't enough O-linemen to have a scrimmage.

I hope Ricker gets a new job as OL coach somewhere else so he gets rewarded for the good work he did at KU. Lindsey went with the OL coach he knows instead of Ricker so that is to be expected.

Auburn fans said this season part of their problems on offense were caused by a lot of new players on OL. That should motivate Lindsey to keep a close eye on OL recruiting and OL development at KU. Meadows bio shows he spent 10 years at South Dakota so I expect to see some OL recruits from that part of the US.
