Was reading an ESPN article regarding Beaty's firing.

In referring to the game Saturday, they wrote that KU appeared "unprepared and uninspired" and it seems I read something to a similar effect in another article.

Was Saturday's game any different than a typical KU game? I watched it and it was as I expected it to be and similar to KU performances over most of the past decade. Whenever KU plays a better team, the opponent outgains KU by large margins in yardage, our offense can't score and our defense has difficulty stopping the other team. It was just more of the same and yet this seemed to be the first time I saw KU referred to in this manner.

Were they just making the narrative fit the story? How long before an article refers to KU playing "inspired" football?
