Offense has been Beaty's forte, defense has been Bowen's "strength". Now you understand.

OC has been understated (not so much at fault) so far by hiring a new one in Meacham.

I think it is a bit of both on both offense and defense.

It's just easier to give Meacham more time and less criticism because he's had success elsewhere.

Bowen hasn't been successful here or anywhere else. That's especially scary since we have a Co-DC in Perry and Bradford was a P5 DC at one point...and we just hired Miller who was a DC at multiple places. It would seem to point to Bowen needing help.

It was also fairly easy to see defense had a lot more to work with last year with Dineen, Armstrong, Wise, etc. and it seemed to be completely wasted.

Beaty has an odd mix of assistant coaches. On offense Meacham has experience but the rest of the assistant coaches are all younger coaches without much experience. On defense all of the assistants are older coaches with a lot of experience. Does coaching experience only matter for defense and not for offense?

I understand. The offense finished at 120 out of 130 teams. Had it not been for Meachum we would have finished lower.
The defense finished 118. With all the talent on the defensive, had Meachum coached that side of the ball we would have finished in the top 50. Especially with all that talent we put on the field on that side of the ball.
