Really feel for these guys having to sit and watch knowing they could help their teammates.

Interesting to think if they would have been available - would we have lost not getting the kind of game we got from Lightfoot or would we have won by double digits?

Love the effort and attitude from Mitch...a true teammate. Will be an important 4yr. guy.

I'll concern myself with the two unicorns when and if the time comes.

It was a blast watching The Lightfeet in his beast mode last night.

The NCAA is not to blame for either player's predicament.

So if anyone has watched Preston and/or DeSousa at the practices how does the team shape up? How much more do they add to the mix? Right now we're not at all that formidable, but just sort of middle- of- the pack good.

Most practices are closed to the public. So I doubt anyone can contribute. Preston has practiced all along and played vs Mizzou in that charity game. He looked pretty good that day. Of course dumb old michhawk will chime in with some goofy stoic witlessism on the matter.

Preston plays like a Marcus Morris of sorts (first name that comes to mind--not implying he's a Big 12 POY right now).

He's not going to play much back to the basket or back down a defender. He's going to shoot mid-range jumpers at a decent percent and take the occasional guy off the dribble. He's also got decent enough vision to pass well in the high/low. Looks athletic enough to catch some of our lob passes that we work into the offense.

He's still a step slow against seasoned players on defense, and he makes the occasional bonehead play trying to be too fancy. In the bit that I've seen, he's not a great shot blocker either.

Definitely going to help the team, though.

Haven't seen much of De Sousa. With the holidays, lack of school in session, and more frequent games, it's difficult to track down the schedule to see the practices since he arrived.

In that Mizzou game Preston had 12 pts and 4 boards in 15 mins of play. Pretty efficient.

You're right, but everyone here is aware of the context.

Well...still no news today per Tait. Fun.

No one blames the NCAA for the predicament, but their response times make places like Comcast look competent.

Self has started openly blaming the NCAA over the last couple days, as have Dickie V and 80% of the commenters on Tait's columns.

I know it's sacrilege to say this around here, but Self is in the wrong.

I'm sure it can't be that the NCAA is just moving slow. They've never, ever done that before.

Self obviously has to be in the wrong.
