97 and 58. Has coached 10 bowl teams. Would you guys take him next fall? Maybe fire Bowen now and offer him good money to be the DC w/ an understanding that he moves up after any sort of bad start. A real AD would force this move on Beaty right now. He!!, it might even piss Beaty off enough he'd quit and we'd save the $1.2 million.

Honestly, this is what we need. A guy who played for HaydenFry and coached under the BucktoothedWizard on the Farm. Come on Zenger. A real AD needs to make this move right now.

I would be fine with Bielema. Just like I am salavating about most of the coaches that got canned (which is sad).

That said you can't hire him as D coordinator just waiting to take over on any miss step by Beaty.

Nice call. Bielema meets my basic qualifications. He served his apprenticeship in a major program under a fine coach and has a winning record at a major program against serious competition. And he doesn't speak like a low grade moron, unlike David Beaty.

Why not? Bohl forced Gameball to hire Rip Scherer afore the 2001 season. I believe Freddy forced Gamball to fire his DC the year afore and hire Tom Hayes. I know the Rip Scherer hire was done to provide a backup coach in case they canned Gameball during the season. I do not see how we can return to Bowen when we fire Beaty after the Rutgers game next fall. Right now, we'd have to go w/ Meachem. That will suck as well. Some sort of contingency should be arranged now. And w/ the early signing period, no reason exists not to can poor performing coaches during the season anymore.

I am sorry for Beaty that this must be so brutal. Honestly, he's been given a longer leash than any other Div1a coach in the country. If he thinks he's been mistreated, ask Bielema how he feels. Going into Columbia last year, he was set to move the Razorbacks up in the world of SEC football. 365 days later he got the axe on the field on teevee.

I am fine with getting rid of Beaty. I think if you were going to do it you would do it now instead of waiting for a non-con slip up that is almost guaranteed.

The funny thing is Beaty's guarantee is the same if you can him after next year. Firing him now actually saves money.

There are are a number of coaches that have just been canned that I would take. All pipe dreams until AD is replaced.

Who is somebody who is overpriced and not a good fit for our program? I am still rooting for Chuckles Jr.

CW had a similar resume as Bielema.

My brother in law who was all conference and invited to the NFL combine, played for Rip Sherer at Memphis. Said the guy was a complete buffoon.

Kevin Sumlin. I think he would take it just to show aTm the winning 9 games IS an accomplishment.

Correct. No coach wants to take a painfully blatant step backwards.

Weis was under great coaches, but I'd rather take the great coaches he was under than Chuckles.

Probably...but it doesn't matter as far as Zenger and Girod go. Knute Rockne could come back from the dead and beg for the job, only to be told that Beaty is the man and working through the "process"! Kind of makes one wonder what is in the nasty photos Beaty has of both men......... laugh

A throbbing threeway between Girod, Beaty and Zenger with each fighting to see who gets to be in the middle, with Bowen looking through the window waiting for his turn

That's not what I said. I said "type" and not specifically him. Try and keep up...
