It's quite simple really.

If you look at Beatys history and current state of the program and you believe him to be the right guy to lead this team. Then you keep him. If you look at the same info and you believe him to be in way over his head you let him go now

And if you look at Zengers history and current state of the program you ask has he improved the state of KU athletics and could he make a quality hire if Beaty was fired then you keep him. If not you fire him

It's really quite simple you get the best qualified people to do the job. When things other than performance are used to base personnel decisions you end up with the current state of KU football

The Atlanta Journal Constitution ranks Beaty at #6 on their hot seat list. Bailiff at Rice is #5, Sumlin at AM #4, Fedora at NC #3, Riley at Neb #2, Bielema at Ark #1.

Beaty should move up to #1 on coacheshotseat.com since Riley and Bielema were fired.

Beaty should move up to #2 soon on the Atlanta Journal Constitution hot seat list after ASU hires Sumlin and Rice fires Bailiff. Beaty could move to #1 there too if UNC fires Fedora.

Sumlin is out at A&M so Beaty is up to #3 on the AJC hot seat behind only Bailiff and Fedora.

Thank God he is at KU where we don't understand the importance of a competitive football program come realignment time, which will be in 3 yrs.

Everywhere else the seat would be melting molten hot. At KU it's an ice cold seat with a lifetime contract of suck. Not even lukewarm.

Sumlin is out at A&M so Beaty is up to #3 on the AJC hot seat behind only Bailiff and Fedora.

Rice fired Bailiff so Beaty moves up to # 2 on the AJC coaches hot seat behind only Fedora at UNC. Now keep in mind that Fedora went 3-9 this season with a win against Pitt. The only reason Fedora ranks ahead of Beaty is because the
AJC factored in the better quality AD and administration at UNC.

Beaty has officially moved up to #1 at www.coacheshotseat.com.
