...teaching a womens dance flag team. That's about the level of intensity they have proven that they can muster. What I know is a team with good players who play with a meanness about them will crush a team with great players who are meek with no personal pride. Every time. You get the feeling that these guys know that there won't be any consequences to weak effort play. There seriously is a complete lack of competitiveness/meanness. What is true is that soft teams typically practice soft.

The line play effort on both sides of the ball is weak. Height/weight is not the end all when it comes to winning a line battle. Quickness. Technique. Strength. Meanness. Competitiveness.

Case in point: Univ of Texas, who has been generally known in recent years to be a relatively soft team looks like they are beginning to find some moxy back. Same talent level as in the past. The difference is they deffinitely look like they are playing with a level of grit. That is coaching. The question is when are the KU coaches going to quit talking about playing tough and change things to do something that actually results in tough players (especially line play).
