It's my understanding he gets 700,000 a year thru 2021 with a 40,000 bonus if we make a bowl. Contract should be 40,000 a year with 700,000 bonus if we make a bowl. Ku administration/ new chancellor is incompetent.

Old chancellor gave Zenger the extension on her way out the door. Don't blame the new guy.

You're saying the new chancellor is incompetent when he's only been on the job a whooping 2 months...?

Liberals are REAL QUICK to spend other peoples money. But, you see, most of it never works out very well. Funny how that works.

Just the fact that you thought the new guy was giving him a contract and raise says a lot about how you think. Lol

Just a thought on the new guy. He did a very good job running the medical center campus and he's had a suite at Memorial for several years before being named our new Chancellor. I don't think he's any happier about the state of our program than any of us are.

Only question will be is what actions will he take or not take over the next 1 or 2 years to try and fix it if nothing improves.

Question is, does Girod have the stones to do what needs to be done? Who would be a good choice to be next AD?

The entire athletic department needs to be fired and replaced with new blood. Self included.

I think Girod is a very smart competent guy. If he feels like it needs to be done, I get the feeling he'll do what's necessary, but that's just my impression of him from my limited interactions with him.

As for who would be good to replace Zenger with if it comes to that, I don't have a good guess right now.

You'll likely hear the guy at Marshall (Mike Hamrick). Maybe Mark Dominik just because he's a KU guy and knows football.

Otherwise it'll be a pick 'em of a higher level group of five AD that can raise money and hire football coaches.

I'd expect at least one poster to suggest Joe Parker from CSU because he hired one good coach and another one that's reasonably competent in the MWC. He also coaxed his way into their new stadium.

Just depends on who applies and how hard Girod and Co push to find/hire the best. If we're going to shop with a Brinks truck, we should try to poach the AD from OU.
