Sad day in Jayhawk grid land. frown Keith Lonneker was Jayhawk through and through and will be sorely missed by all.

It was Keith and company who pulled us from the second worst disaster in our history. Two things I will always remember this one of a kind guy for.

1) Always calling Hawk Talk to give Mase a hard time. Those moments on the old LIVE call in show are priceless.
2) Leading the charge for Tony Sands to break the rushing mark and blast Misery at the same time.

If we fans could love a guy that much, I can't imagine how hard his family and Ketih Jr. are taking the loss. My heart goes out to them.

Terribly sad news.

That SUCKS big time. Cancer is a b!itch of a disease.

Hope all is as well as can be with his family and friends in this time of loss.

Too young. I know the team will honor him in some fashion this upcoming season.

"Coach, you're running the boys too much."

Great guy. That Touchdown Tony Sands game was to coolest sports spectacle I've witnessed. I have a picture of Touchdown Tony Sands scoring in the Missoura game w/ him and all 5 offensive linemen (including Loneker) engaged w/ a Slaver. Classic Glen Mason.

RIP

Very sad news. I too remember his call-ins to coach. Miss those days.

You seem to darken every thread 58. Not me. I had zero to contribute so was respectful. On the other hand there is 58...

It was Keith and company who pulled us from the second worst disaster in our history. Two things I will always remember this one of a kind guy for.

1) Always calling Hawk Talk to give Mase a hard time. Those moments on the old LIVE call in show are priceless.

I didn't realize this happened until I heard it mentioned in last week's game on TV. Glad to have his son at KU. I think that's important. Hate to see what cancer does to people and families. I love to seeing the players of old getting their kids here at KU. It's that pride in family and school we need to keep building. I'm glad we finally recognized the Orange Bowl team and Mangino. I think it's sad we hid one of the best teams in our history away like a bad memory. I don't want to forget the good teams at KU. I want to forget the bad ones.
