Turner Gill's Liberty Flames beat Baylor @Baylor 48-45. Also interesting note is Liberty is moving up to FBS in the next two seasons.

Before the game, I was at the old Penny's store downtown Lawrence. Antique Mall now. Way in the back, was a KU football for sale. Turner Gill autographed. Young girl loudly asked her mother, "Mom who is Turner Gill?". I turned to my wife saying, "architect of today's Kansas football!"

He now has as many Big 12 wins at Liberty as he did at KU.

Well, he has as many Big 12 wins at Liberty as every KU head coach (including Bowen) in the Zenger era...so Gill, Weis, Bowen, and Beaty all fit.

So take your pick.

He is a winner!

Only problem, Beaty hasn't been replaced...yet.

Weis was fired. Beaty is still taking money for nothing.

I don't necessarily trust Zenger to make a quality hire...or, honestly, to do anything major at this point.

Don't get me wrong, I like Beaty. I think he's doing a reasonable job, but if we're accepting that Beaty's doing "nothing" and has failed, in my opinion, Zenger can't be the person who makes that hire/fire decision. He would need to be held just as responsible, if not more so, for the football "mess" as Beaty. How many chances do we give Zenger to find the right guy?

The football renovations need to be a fuggin 10, or Beaty and/or Schneider need to prove something before I'd let Papa John make another major decision. Nothing personal, but if he flops on Weis, Beaty, Schneider, and the football renovations, he needs to receive a severance package.

I have said all along Beaty is a nice guy. Not the coach for a turn around program, however, needing some extra juice to complete it. Yes, as you pointed out in earlier posts, the Zenger man is tied to Beaty and should be eligible to get his final millions as well.

Tough to understand. 1+1 = 2. TG has two wins. DB has one big 12 win.

Only for you apparently. ONE win against BG12 teams as Liberty HC, ONE win against BG12 as Kansas HC, ties him to the ORIGINAL post info. Better understanding now?

Hard to know-is he stupid or obtuse?

Right, lets go get Gill. That was sarcasm. I think we are stuck with who we are stuck with and we've become content or apathetic to mediocrity and below. I do think Bender is an good QB for us and I do see a lot of positives but the small mistakes that we keep having with our team is crazy. I'd like to say we are a fundamentally sound football program, but I don't think I can do that. Not until the day where KU can score higher than 21 points per game for an average. We need a team that can get us in the 28-35 range and a decent defense.

I watched 75 totally whiff on his block. I don't get it. I wish we had better success but it seems like we find new ways to fail. Gill was bad. Weis was worse. Now we have Beaty and while I like him and you would think we'd do well on paper, it just doesn't translate to the field. Not yet. If you want Gill, then you should be willing to wait that long for Beaty. I'm not going to watch anymore of this. It's bad football. 10 to 6 and we fall apart.

Bender's WSU stats should have tipped you off on what would happen at Kansas. And I don't mean just on this game today. INT master = Bender.

Games are most generally won or lost in the trenches. We lost both today.
