It definitely won't be sustained, but it is damn cool to see that.

JaMarr Chase, Kelvin Joseph, along with some local dudes and our current commits would make me content.

Probably not but even if we make the top 25 that is still pretty impressive especially with where the program has been.

Realistically we could maintain top 50. Not top 20.

If Beaty is going to get early OL and DL commits then I would rather they be local HS players. That increases the odds they will stick with their commitment.

He has mentioned over and over that his goal is to find kids with big frames that can move and add the weight we want on them while they're at KU. This is opposed to adding giant dudes that can't move and trying to teach them to move.

Have you looked at the OL recruits Beaty has offered for 2018? They are heavier players than what KU has offered under Beaty in the past. Beaty probably realizes he needs naturally heavier, more powerful OL players to open up holes for his improved group of RBs. They still need to be mobile but they also need to have more power to push DL players out of the way when running the ball.

Kid is real athletic. Looks more like a basketball player right now, but has the frame to add a good amount of weight IMO. He falls in line with many of the other OL recruits KU has offered over the past 3 years.

I believe his parents are both KU grads, but both his older brothers played football at ksu. Not sure how much contact the pig farmers have had with him, but he looked like he was having a good time at our spring game when I saw him.

The other thing to consider is Meacham as the new OC. When Meacham was at TCU over the last 3 recruiting classes most of their OL recruits were in the 280 lbs on up range. I expect Meacham will want similar sized OL recruits at KU. The OL recruits are still going to be mobile just 20 - 30 lbs heavier on average.

One thing that is not a subject of speculation is that our running game was bad the last 2 seasons. We have to change something with our OL recruiting to get better results from our running game. Beaty will have to get more wins this season to reel in those targets so we will see what happens. I am glad to see the success Beaty is having with bringing in bigger OL players via transfer. Now he needs to make similar progress with his regular OL recruiting.

Oh you want 17-18 year olds at NFL size. That's logical.

I think we are thinking of linemen who can naturally blossom into potential NFL size smuk
