So my wife and I were dog sitting yesterday and we were walking the dog in the park. The dog did his business and we immediately got out the bag and started to clean it up. Some lady comes out of her way to come over and tell us that "your dog shouldn't be doing that on the grass here."

I was new to the area so I wasn't 100% sure that wasn't allowed. But I hadn't seen one sign stating such. I said, "Well, we're just dog sitting so we didn't know."

Then she got kinda annoying and said, "Well there are signs all over the place."

I was pretty sure that wasn't the case so I said, "I didn't see any."

Then she starts pointing all around the grass, "Well there's like 12 signs. There are signs there and there and there."

By then, I was pretty upset so I kinda told her to mind her own business.

I guess I should have just left it there but I had to investigate. So I circled around the park looking at the signs. The signs she pointed to were all 'no parking' signs or 'no cycling' signs or 'recycle' signs. Not one sign about pets.

She was still there on the grass but quickly leaving. I think she noticed that I was looking around at the signs. What would you do?

I'd tell her "Bitch, you're out of your element!"

Park slope lady? Or crazy bag lady?


I struggle to not let people like that affect my day. I'll get pissed and think about it for hours and she's probably off protesting the use of crayons at her child's school or down at the pier communing with rats and doesn't remember talking to me

So I caught up to her, pointed to all the signs that she had pointed to earlier, and asked where the ones prohibiting dogs on the lawn.

Caught in her lie, she said, "Well there used to be signs here!"

So, she could see you? Maybe she's dead, too, and also doesn't know it.
