3 @ NY Mets (48-58)
3 vs Minnesota (45-60)
4 vs Boston (66-44)
3 vs Miami (42-65)
5 @ Detrot (61-45)
3 vs Chicago (40-66)
3 vs Washington (52-56)
1 vs Tampa Bay (64-44)

What is a realistic goal for this team right now? 16-9 would be great if that included a 2-3 or 3-2 record against Detroit. The same record while going 0-5 would kind of suck.

The players have to be juiced right now. The season is in their hands right now and by the end of August they could be squarely in playoff position.

Plus, following these 25 games, the next 10 are against Minnesota, Toronto and Seattle......

Do you think the Royals can make the run they need to make? Predictions for these 25 or even 35 games?

I'll have faith (for once) and say they go 17-8 and 24-11.

14-11

They MUST play well against Cle. and Det. They have 17 games with those two teams left this year. If they want to win the division...they can.

Starting Aug.15, we have a 5 game series with the Tigers. Talk about an opportunity to make up some ground.

A prediction? Probably 13-15 wins. I really don't think this team has a shot at the playoffs (as I've said). But right now, they're making strides toward converting me every day. If they win 17-19 games in that stretch and hold their own against Detroit and Boston (playoff locks), I'll be on board. Because that would almost certainly mean that they are right in the thick of things and possibly in position to get a playoff spot.

You gotta believe there is some regression after a 11-2 start to the 2nd half of the season.

But the schedule is quite favorable.

I'll say 14-11 for these 25.

Thought I saw someone tweet that over 75% of the Royals' remaining games are against teams below .500 or the Indians/Tigers. There's a lot of teams the Royals need to pass, but...they'll have the chance.

The schedule lines up well for them. The Indians and Tigers are done beating up on themselves for the most part so KC will have to overtake them. And with series still left against weaker teams, they can move up the ladder.

It really makes you scratch your head when the Royals win nine in a row and can't make up any ground. The Tigers have won nine of their past 10 heading into the day and Cleveland is 8-2. The three hottest team in the MLB since the All Star break are all in the AL Central. Can a brother buy a break!

It starts to this weekend. If the Royals can't take the series without having to face Matt Harvey, that's a bad sign.

Would be nice to get that 1st one with Davis on the mound.

Get that one, and a sweep is a definite possibility.

Was lockdown after that first inning. Ran into trouble multiple times, but able to get out of the jams.

Wade Davis sucks. But he was able to persevere tonight against an awful team.
