So coming out of the All-Star Break, the Royals are sitting at 6 games under (43-49). The Tigers are most likely going to run away with this division in the second half, but a run at a wild card spot isn't completely implausible. The trade deadline is quickly approaching.

In your opinion, should the Royals buy or sell right now? And who should they trade or trade for? Interested in hearing your opinions.

Personally, I think that the Royals should make that call after the first two series coming out of the break. They get 7 games against Detroit (3) and Baltimore (4). If you lose both of those series, I think it would be wise to sell, sell, sell.

Santana seems like a prime candidate.

If Moore can spot a mark now, gotta do it.

Ask me this question in about 10 days and I'll give you a definitive answer.

I might be decided after this weekend series with the Tigers. The Royals are just about cooked, but there is still a very dim light at the end of the tunnel.

You do realize they are further out from a wild card spot than they are the division, right?

They aren't going to the playoffs this season, let's face facts.

Garza looks like he's going to be dealt anytime now, and he's definitely going to get the Cubs back a hefty haul.

Santana is definitely in the next tier of guys that should be available...there's no reason for Moore to wait to deal him.

I definitely think Santana should be dealt, but only if KC doesn't win this upcoming 7 day stretch. This will set the tone of the 2nd half. Santana put something on twitter that KC will dominate the second half. The season is theirs.

The schedule isn't too terrible. 4 series vs Detroit and then 3 vs MN and CWS then 2 vs Cle. Still have to play Seattle for 2 series, play at the Mets, home vs. Washington and Miami.

I think KC entered the break perfectly. Guys probably tired of each other, routine gets a bit old. Now they can come in a bit refreshed and hopefully they can open the break like they opened the season.

With a five-game losing streak?

Not sure I follow.

I do realize that. But I said that I believe that the Tigers are going to RUN AWAY with the division. They haven't played to their potential. They are going to mop the floor with this joke division. Garza has had his value a bit artificially inflated this year, but his track record is impeccable. He should be the first guy teams are after. But Santana isn't far behind. He has been lights out this year. And tonight only bolstered his value (Tigers). Santana should be traded if a nice return is there for the taking.

Pirates closer Grilli may be out for an extended period of time. Mayhaps they become desperate for a closer? Or is Moore just gonna stay pat and ride this season out?

If Moore is balking at trading Santana....there's no chance in hell he wants to deal Holland.

I can think of a few reasons that it makes more sense to trade Holland than Santana.

I don't disagree, but if he's not willing to trade a guy who probably won't be here next season because he's trying to finish .500, what are the odds Holland, who is young, under contract for multiple years, is on the block?

Oh, I don't think Vegas would even list them. No way it even occurs to Dayton.

Trading Holland makes a ton of sense. If the return is right...

Closers flame out all the time. Especially since Holland isn't a big phyical guy. Remember Soria? Good thing we didn't trade him for anyone....
