Red Sox or the Angels?
Yankees or the Indians?

I'll take the Sox in 4 games and the Indians in 5 games. What does everyone else think?

Who's pitching for the Yankees exactly?
Because I don't think the Indians will have trouble hitting the most washed up pitchers in baseball. On the other hand, can the Yankees hit C.C. and Fausto in games 1 and 2?

Question: When you say "washed up pitchers" please explain.
While The Yankees havent faced C.C that's gonna be more of a problem for him, very patient hitter's The Yankees. They eat up pitch counts like no other team. If C.C cant throw his junk over the plate than that cat will be forked in 3 innings. 1-9 The Yankees will rake all over the field. Better question is how are Indian hitter's gonna hit Wang?

That rally monkey will have no chance against The Yankee Squirrel. For you who dont know there's a squirrel who has been atop the RF foul ball pole the last 7 games at Yankee Stadium. Fear the squirrel. The winner of NY v. Cle. will be my team of choice for the WS. Cleveland has too many ex-Shockers to not root for. One being the winning catcher of the 1989 College WS.

Is Wang going to pitch every game? The Yankees have 4 pitchers, 2 whom are decent, Wang and Pettitte. They are a combined 34-16 this year with 245 strikeouts. The Yankees two "ACES" ERA's aren't that great. Clemens should have stayed retired, he's not the old Roger. Mussina should retire because he's been awful all year long. Rivera has been non-Rivera like the entire year. I'm not as worried if the Yankees take a 1 run lead going into the bottom of the 9th this year.

The Indians pitching this year has been stellar. Carmona and Sabathia combining for a record of 38-15. They also have 346 strikeouts between them. Both have ERA's under 3.25. Not to mention Paul Byrd pulled his ass out of his head this year winning 15 games. Hopefully the 22 year old starter Aaron Laffey gets some action because he's been great in his 6 games. Even Westbrook has looked good at times this year. Borowski has struggled the past month which really worries me, but if he struggles enough they can move Betancourt back to closer because nobody has been able to touch him.

Indians team ERA - 4.05
Yankees team ERA - 4.49

I like the Indians pitching way more than the Yankees. About 3 Yankees hitters are paid as much as the entire Cleveland roster, so obviously their better in that department. I've been waiting for this moment since 2001 when the Indians were in the playoffs last. And there's no other kid I like more than Grady Sizemore. He has the 2nd longest active playing streak in the majors. He just goes out and plays, got to have some respect for him.

It's time for the Tribe to shine.

C.C. is going to eat A-Rod before the game, nevermind we should keep him in the lineup since he can't do anything in the playoffs.

Honestly who'd win in a fight C.C. or Mangino?

Have you seen the pitching matchups?

Thursday @ CLE - Wang vs Sabathia (Toss Up, CLE should win)
Friday @ CLE - Pettitte vs Carmona (Cleveland wins)
Sunday @ NYY - Westbrook vs Clemens (Yankees win)
Monday @ NYY - Byrd vs Mussina (Cleveland wins)
Wednesday @ CLE - Wang vs Sabathia again (If it is necessary, C.C. will deliver the hammer AGAIN)

You must have missed the 6 games where we dismantled the Cleveland pitching goons. It was frickin surgery how we cut out parts piece by piece. 'Rockchalk' C.C up and we'll complete the project.

That was like the 4th series of the season, and the last time you played us was August 10-12. I don't care what happend early in the year, the Yankees had probably played 20 games and Cleveland played 10 before they met. It was also Carmona's 2nd career start, he gave up like 2 runs before the bullpen blew it.

You dismantled Westbrook, Sowers, and Byrd. Sowers doesn't start anymore thank God. Wedge is just an idiot for not letting Laffey start for Westbrook, I guess he thinks that he needs experience in there.

31-13 Since August 12th is all I have to say, That's Fine.

You haven't faced C.C. in years and Carmona was probably in his 3rd career start. Bring your old men (Clemens, Pettite, Rivera, Torre, Posada, Giambi, et. all) and their Depends, because the Tribe is going to dash your hopes real quick.

Yankees dont panic.

Most everyone figured Clemens would struggle. But even on his bad day at 45 he isnt a FLOP like Goggles has been. Clemens just needs to plant one on Hafner's chin then he'll be back in the saddle.

Yankees may not panic, but they also have a tendency to either put up 16 runs or get 5-hit. If their starters pull that silly crap and give up 6 runs like they often do, the big bats won't have a chance to play catch up against CC.

If Clemens plants one on Hafner's chin I guarentee his old fat ass won't be pitching much longer, Hafner and the Tribe will not put up with that. The next inning whoever's pitching for the Indians is going to plunk one of those old pieces of sh*t right in the head and hopefully knock their ass out for good.

Question: Did you acquire Clemens to pitch "with a hamstring not strong enough to hold up to pitching in a Major League Baseball game" come October? Give me one shred of evidence from THIS season that indicates the 45 year old Clemens is healthy enough to magically flip on a switch of post-season dominance as you are assuming?

Just as recently as a few weeks ago he was getting cortisone shots in his pitching elbow. Always an indicator that someone is about to dominate. You're right...all indications are that he is currently a well-oiled machine primed and ready for post-season domination.

Clemens' fine tuning...

Do you understand Jon Papelbon is a better closer than mariano rivera right now?

No one fears Rivera anymore...Papelbon is feared by a lot.

Joba Chamberlein is feared by more than Rivera right now, and he's not even been in the league for half a year.

Chamberlein is the reason why Youkilis' wrist hurts when he swings.

How can you not make the playoffs when your roster gets a combined 200,000,000 a year honestly. Even the Sox have about 160,000,000. If both these teams don't finish at the top of the AL EAST each year something is wrong. The Indians are like 23rd in the league with money and their at about 61,000,000 I believe. The Rockies and D-Backs are even below them and they manage to sneak in.

LOL DON'T GIVE ME [censored] ABOUT THE DBACKS AND ROCKIES MAKING IT IN.

Did you notice all the AL teams have over 90 wins?

Only the D'backs have 90wins in the NL.

The AL will toast the NL this year and already has.

The American League is so much more competitive...

Whoa Whoa Whoa hold on there...
I was not implying that the NL is better than the AL, hell no!
The NL is another league below the AL as we always see from the beatdown in the All-Star game.

As long as the Yankees don't make it into the World Series I'll always cheer for the AL, but if they're in it, go D-Backs/Rockies/Cubs/Phillies!

Papps' is a good closer, no doubt. I just asked how did he do last year in the playoffs. No answer I see. We'll see though. And what about Chris Sabo, err, I mean Greg Gagne? Goggles is your bridge to Papps'. I would check that bridge for faults before crossing.

Sure Rivera has lost some, i'll own that. But to say nobody fears him is just foolish. Message to tribe: bring lots of extra bats cause his cutter is still baseball's nastiest even at 37ish.

Chamberlain has arrived. From single A to 'The Show' he has made madd steps get to where he is. You talk about the solution to a problem? This kid has the cure for cancer in his mitt. And boo-f'n-hoo about KY's wrist. With initials like that rub some jelly on it and move on.

A performence that will be remembered forever. But one Yankees will want to forget. Indians played remarkable. Up and down the order they kicked the Yankees billion dollar stars right in the teeth. Hats off Cleveland fan.

Go Indians!

I forgot about George Brett rakin' back in '76 at Yankee Stadium.

from espn......

Grady Sizemore's leadoff home run in Game 4 was the fourth leadoff home run (first batter at top or bottom of first inning) this postseason, an MLB record. Sizemore hit four leadoff home runs during the regular season and has 11 for his career in the regular season.

It was the second time in postseason history that the first batter of a game at Yankee Stadium homered. The other was George Brett during Game 3 of the 1976 ALCS -- a game in which Brett hit three home runs (and the Royals lost).
