that the absolute antithesis of bob knight basketball shoots and misses the final shot to give coach the record. i can think of no one playing the college game today that in juxtaposition would be more deserving of that honor than kwho's own, j.r.

What happened to JR's headband? I think not wearing that caused him to miss the final shot.

The real question is: if Tech had been playing KSU, would they even have celebrated a victory?

From Katz....

If you need another reason why New Mexico isn't a big-time job, you should have been at Albuquerque International Sunport on Sunday. The Lobos had to wait in a Southwest Airlines line for well over an hour to get checked in. Most major programs would have chartered to Texas Tech instead of being at the mercy of a commercial flight.

Is he being sarcastic?

I remember being on the same SWA flight as Roy and the boys (headed to a game at Ohio St) in a very crowded airport terminal several years back. There was no charter or special treatment for them.

But then again...maybe we aren't a big-name program.

i am not saying you are full of sh*t 96, but you are full of sh*t. i have been on commercial flights with the coaching staff (recruitment periods), but there is no way in hell KU flew on SWA. i'd possibly buy that they flew commercial, but no way on that cattle cart.

I am absolutely telling the truth. It was ridiculous. They were flying thru Chicago. Then on to Ohio.

I have no reason to make this up.

that is nuts, i guess i have no reason to not believe you. but that is seriously ghetto. i mean, it is rare these days for the big boys to go commercial, but SWA is a-whole-nother story.

It was quite surprising. I felt bad for the guys. Coach looked miserable. He'd probably been accosted 1000 times by the time he boarded. Very ghetto.

SWA? 96, take it back...the horror! Whaaaaa! At least they didn't have to ride a bus...

I was standing there at KU Med Hospital and one of the students complained that the elevators were taking too long. An infectious disease doctor from "Red" China replied: "This reminds me of a story. In 1936 at our commencement, the dean of the medical school in Shanghai stated: 'We have two goals for the hospital in the next year: One, to get phones at each of the nursing stations, and two, to get an elevator so we won't have to carry the patients up and down the stairs on stretchers in our four story hospital'." I don't think any of us ever complained about "slow" elevators, ever again.

there would have been a mediocre point to that story, had it been 1936.

i love the fake chinese accent, but why stop at just the words...let's play pronunciation too!

This remind me of stoly. 1936 commencement dean of medicar schoor in Shanghai say: 'We have two goar fol hospitar in next year: One, get phones at each nulsing station, two, get erevatol so not have cally patients up and down stails on stletchels in 4 stoly hospitar'.

I don't laugh at much that you say, but I almost had water come out my nose when I read that.

However, let me qualify that last statement by saying that it might have been because it was funny, but it might also have been that I just saw "A Christmas Story" last week.

"Deck da harrs with boughs of horry, ra ra ra ra ra . . . "

A Chinese chef marries his long time sweetheart. She's a virgin and, truth be told, he is none too experienced either. On the wedding night, she cowers naked under the bed sheets as her husband undresses.

He climbs in next to her and tries to be reassuring: "My darring" he says, "I know dis you fus time and you berry frighten. I plomise you, I give you anyting you wan, I do anyting you wan, you say. Whatchou wan?" he says, trying to sound experienced, which he hopes will impress his bride.

A thoughtful silence follows and he waits patiently, for her request. She eventually replies shyly and unsure, "I wan... numba 69."

More thoughtful silence, this time from him. Eventually, in a puzzled tone he queries: "You want... Beef wif Broccori?"

You hired huggins. By default you or any other KSU fan has forfeited the right to ever again make fun of any current or former KU players or coaches. Feed this to the purples, we have no interest.

Notice this "blog" (always a credible source of info, mind you) says he gave a "full recommendation" and not a "strong endorsement" or "vote of approval"...

I wonder if the recommendation included the words "run away as fast as you can"?
