Auburn favored by 2.

Interesting that Pat Sommerall is calling the game on Fox.

Cool, sunny day in Dallas. Forty degrees with an expected high of 52.

Big break for Auburn with an interception of a deflected pass, 7-7.

End of 1st Q.

Extreme bonehead play by Nebraska, losing the ball on their 14-yard-line on a fake punt.

Got to be one of the dumbest calls of the season.

Auburn 14-7. Nebraska has outplayed Auburn but is giving the game away.

Another impressive drive by Nebraska, 14-14. Auburn has done little except take advantage of Husker miscues.

One-sided game with an even score.

return things to order next fall? Gawd, Auburn has athletes on defense. Those guys are tough. No imagination on offense for the Tigers.

Final: Auburn 17-14.

Ho-hum second half with the edge to Auburn. Huskers didn't do much of anything on offense after dominating the first half.

Mistakes and a few bad decisions probably cost Nebraska the game.

Another Big12 turd, which is accumulating into quite a pile.
I can't remember our conference taking this many bowl losses before. Can you (anyone)?

Well at least OU is handing it Boise State, only trailing them by 14.

I think when Callahan gave the slash move last year that he was referring to his early castration....dude has no nuts. How about that last drive??? I guess I don't remember much about the origin of the West Coast offense....was there a lot of Joe Montana hand-offs to Wendle Tyler with the game on the line? Let's see, you're are a high-powered-offense-kind-of-coach...I completely understand using the All Conference QB and offensive player of the year (deserving or not) to hand off 5 straight and toss a shovel pass before throwing it out of bounds on 4th down. Pure Genius...and people wonder why Hawkins would leave BSU to take the CU job. Look who he has to compete with: Callahand-off with the game on the line, Gary Pinkel who has his own criteria of what makes a 'W', the unproven purple Princess, and of course our beloved Coach.

This game was boring as hell. But I'm glad NU lost since I don't buy into the whole "gotta support the conference" deal. Though I may be sad to see Callahan go since he provided NU with the team that was the first to get smacked down by the Jayhawks in like 40 years. I say who cares if they lost. We need to start websites that are keep Pinkel or Callahan.com lol

Agreed. Where would we be without dumba$$ opponents??? We'd have no one to laugh at but ourselves.

From "The Dallas Morning News":

Callahan's Miscues Costly for Huskers
Columnist: Kevin Sherrington

01:47 AM CST on Tuesday, January 2, 2007

Explaining what went wrong in a game Nebraska had no business losing, Bo Ruud seemed encouraged you could boil it down to a handful of plays.

Come to think of it, he figured a 17-14 loss to Auburn on New Year's Day pretty much summed up the whole season.

"The difference between being 9-5," the Cornhusker linebacker said, "and being a national contender."

Here's the problem, Bo: Nebraska's still closer to the former than the latter.
