The draft is so uncertain that you have to draft the best player available, if you draft by position of need, you are asking for trouble.

Even though Bubba wasn't projected to fall to the Royals last year, it still seemed unlucky.

Yep..pretty unlucky that their #1 guy on the board went the pick before them, and he looks to be one of the best high school prospects to come along in many many years.

If one of the top pitchers had been available when the Royals picked last year, they would have bypassed Starling.

That's what I'm sayin....Dylan Bundy was #1 on their board, and he's just been unreal to start his professional career.

There was a story I heard that Bundy on draft day was wearing a Royals shirt because he thought for sure he was going to KC at #5.

Sigh.

Bundy is the man so far, as we wait for Bubba to take his first professional at bat.

They just showed the pitchers from the 2011 and they are blowing up! While Starling is in AZ taking glorified BP.

I'm really surprised Starling isn't atleast in low level A ball as of yet.

And the Royals wanted a P last season...just their top 4 all got picked 1-4.

Kind of unlucky when you think about it, especially considering they really wanted Bundy, and now you see what he's done so far, and it kinda sucks lol.

Wow. Rany makes his mark on the MLB.

He completes a study saying that younger players in the draft are less risky last year, then Houston goes with the young guy Correa.

I think this hopefully a good thing for the Royals at #5.

I want Kevin Gausman

So far, so good for the Royals. Top 2 picks are both HS kids. Lots of arms still available

WOW....I can't believe this. The Royals are going to get either Appel or Gausman

Couldn't go any better for the Royals.

If they don't take either one of those two guys...I'm gonna lose it.

Appel or Gausman. Pick who's left. Come on, Dayton.

For as 'unlucky' as the royals were in last years draft, I think they are equally as 'lucky' in this years. Both of these guys were supposed to be off the board before the Royals picked

I heard on 810 from some draft dude that the pitchers weren't as good this year as last, is that the consensus?
