This has actually turned into my favorite professional draft out there. Probably because I'm slowly beginning to despise the NFL as a whole. Either way, Monday will be a fun event.

As a Royal's fan I'd love to see either SP Giolito or SP Gausman.

Those are my two choices as well...have a feeling Gausman will be gone by #5, and Giolito might have too many ? marks about his health for the Royals.

I really hope they don't take that Zimmer kid out of San Francisco.

Drafting Giolito isn't any different from drafting any high school pitcher. You have to assume they'll all need TJ done.

That said, I don't know that the Royals want to wait four years on a guy.

If it's another Christian Colon, I'm going to find out where Dayton lives...

Dayton Moore didn't take Hochevar.

Hoch was the right pick at the time, it just didn't work out. Colon on the other hand didn't exactly follow Dayton's promise to go after pitching.

If the Royals want a pitcher: Gausmann, Appel, or Fried

If they feel like going after a position player, Correa or Buxton, although they both could be gone by pick #5, which may leave Albert Almora available.

It's a crap shoot more than ever this year. Maybe they'll get lucky.

Even though Bubba wasn't projected to fall to the Royals last year, it still seemed unlucky.

Exactly, which is why they're due!

Yep..pretty unlucky that their #1 guy on the board went the pick before them, and he looks to be one of the best high school prospects to come along in many many years.

In the MLB draft, you have to take the best player available, regardless of level or position. If it's Gausman, that's fine. But if it's Zunino or Fried or Giolito...it just is.

If one of the top pitchers had been available when the Royals picked last year, they would have bypassed Starling.
