Actually, I used a $200 softball bat during a season once. The way the ball jumped off this bat ... it was like a trampoline inside the bat. I even hit an over-the-fence home run once, something this singles hitter never came close to doing before.
They are amazing. Imagine if MLB allowed those bats. In the Softball league I play in they do not allow those "types" of bats. Too many players (mostly pitchers) were getting cracked with comebackers. I have to use a bat that feels like a metal tooth pick.

Yeah I never liked Rawlings gloves'. I always thought they were the toughest to break in. Ha, in my youth baseball days I'd always let the rich kids buy the new and improved expensive bats. There was always a sucker who'd buy a new one every year and I always wondered what they did with the 200 dollar bat they bought last year? Speaking of bats, Barry Bonds pays 500 dollars for his bats. Most other guys pay around 50-100 dollars I've heard.
