I saw a tweet. Could this be true. Player to be named later. Butler?

Please don't bring Jeter here. It will sell tickets and it will make us thing we did a good thing. But in the end we'll be overpaying a player who is past his prime and at the end of his career. I like the guy, don't get me wrong. But I would hate this move.

Also--this can't possibly be true. He'll spend his entire career as a Yankee.

I would hate this. Really really hate this. He would be nice to have at the #2 slot in the lineup but would be taking ab's away from the young guys that need to see major league arms.

I think KC has the talent but not the fame to keep Jeter entertained. But we dont need another Tommy Morrison to light up the phones of the health clinics.

I just threw up in my mouth. Just what KC needs. an OLD extremely overhyped- light hitting SS with crappy range and a sub par arm that is fading faster than cupcakes off of Rosie O'Donnell dinner plate.

No thanks.

What KC needs is for somebody, anybody, to give a crap about the Royals, and maybe buy a ticket or two.

Bring him on.

Derek Jeter will not make anybody care about the Royals. Nobody cared about the Mets because an old fumbling Willie Mays was stumbling around feebly in center field.

The Royals have a fantastic young player base and more on the way. Signing a DJ type is just going backwards.

Jeter is in swift decline and would be a liability at ss. Pisses me off that the big market teams pretty much control baseball.

The Reds can develop a good player, then can't afford to keep them. I can't imagine the payroll it would take in todays dollars to have, Rose,Morgan,Griffey,Bench,Perez,Foster,Geronimo,Concepcion. I seen them play many times, they will never have a team like that again.

Haha, even if it were true there is no way Jeter would ever come play for that white trash loser small market team that has been the laughingstock of baseball for years and years. I do feel for players like Hosmer. He'll look good in pinstripes once his rookie contract expires and he is able to escape that hell hole.

Same old crap. The only guy in the past 10 that was worth a crap that ended up in pinstripes was Damon and that was after he had gone to both the A's and the Red Sox.

I'm loving watching the Yankees grow old with their huge contracts. Now ARod needs to start declining.
The contracts of these old guys will set the Yankees back for a while, maybe another team in that division can take advantage of the short window this is going to create.
