A stadium that was lifeless an hour earlier was now bursting with energy. The Colorado sideline was grim and lifeless while Kansas players were like caged dogs being restrained from charging the field by coaches on almost every play.

Even worse -- and yes, that`s hard to fathom -- it was 35 points by a bad Kansas team. This wasn`t a good Jayhawk squad having a bad day. This was a bad Jayhawk squad begging to be put out of its misery. This was a bad Kansas team with one eye on the clock and the other on the exit door of the stadium.
A readers comment with this article: I was at 70-3, and there is no comparison. Reliant Stadium full of cowbells and rabid Texas fans, and one of the best college football teams of the decade versus 20,000 bored KU fans and one of the worst college football teams of the decade.

If I were Bohn, I would've fired Hawkins in the locker room.

Also, Boulder's newspaper has a sports section?

That must have been an interesting plane ride back to Boulder.

It sure doesn't help to hear Hawkins told his team to 'take it easy' in the fourth quarter. Saw that quote. That might bury him.

The columnists, radio guys and alumni have been relentless. Hawkins was going to be fired at the end of this season regardless of a win over KU or not.

About the only thing he could do would have been to win the North division. I think everyone knew they weren't going to do that.

Well it could be in our future, though I think Hawkins had more success coming into CU than Gill had. I hope Gill has better success for us than Hawkins had at CU.

Hell, Terry Allen had more success at KU than Dan Hawkins had at Colorado.

But will he retain Gill if he lands the KU job?

Our family represents six Colorado generations. Our two sons are proud Kansas Jayhawks, as are we, one of them performs with the sensational Jayhawk Marching Band 'drumline.' All I've got to say is this, 'Colorado' what a great place to be - from.
