If the department is already contacting other coaches to find interest then there is no fair investigation being conducted and/or they have a smoking gun that we don't know about (unlikely given the amount of information that has leaked) So now it comes down to the hire. Anything short of a homerun will be what might leads to a mess for Lew. The only other way this whole thing gets worse is if we somehow win Saturday and then somehow get invited to some p.o.s. bowl. Can't really keep Mangino if we want to recruit early but we look stupid firing a coach that would've led us to 3 straight bowls.
