You should go on strike until this is corrected.

Where are poeple going to share their Fred Brosky stories, if not here?

Re: how the frick - 06/15/09 01:54 PM

Because until 2008, it was the only team that had won a National Championship at KU in 20 years (won in 2004).

Re: how the frick - 06/15/09 02:59 PM

"On strike"... get it?

I moved out of Lawrence in 2004, but I bought a National Champions bowling shirt before I left.

Now, collegiate bowling is not as exciting as high school girl's hockey, but you people down south have to have SOMETHING to do.

All kidding aside, bowling as harder than it looks. So, to be champions in bowling is a worthy accomplishment. By all means, its place in this message board is deserved.

I remember this time on Bowling for Dollars when Fred Brosky... well, PM me for details. It has to do with 16 pound balls.

I like to bowl. It's fun with beer and stuff.
I stay away from the blue balls however.

Re: how the frick - 04/07/10 07:40 AM

Before the days of people shutting themselves in their caves with their cable tv, cell phones, the internet, etc, humans used to actually interact together via personal contact. I know it's hard to believe but it did happen. One way they did this was in bowling league's. Can you imagine, actually talking & laughing and spending time with a non-virtual human. Amazing. Those were the days.

I watched a program about that once on TV.

I really don't consider this to be a 5-star thread.

Re: how the frick - 06/19/10 09:33 PM

As many as two people viewing. Whoo hoo.

I will say that cheap, artificially surfaced public lanes have hurt the sport.

That damned cat cracks me up every time I see a WISCY post.

Re: How's it going? - 06/22/10 02:58 PM

oreadical, are you in a bad mood? Are you angry b/c the k-means only worked on the site that had a dense enough scatter and contiguous excavation blocks, and the site where it didn't work was not contiguously excavated, and, furthermore, post-depositional taphonomic processes caused a dispersal of the refitted artifacts that could not be contained or accounted for by the RMS cluster radii?

If you are, let it go. Let it go, man.

I've been going to the chiropractor the last two weeks for the kink in my neck. They have me on a six week schedule. With my HSA, its about $85 a visit.

Re: How's it going? - 10/21/10 09:33 AM

My insurance covers $150 per year in chiropracty or massage. I'm thinking massage. I'll have to check and see if my HMO covers the happy ending.
Posted by: JHAWKinKY

Re: How's it going? - 10/21/10 09:41 AM

The massage, imo, is only good while you are there. Three seconds later and it seems to come back. But with the coverage, massage might be the way to go.

Re: How's it going? - 10/21/10 09:46 AM

They say that the benefits of massage last up to 30 days. As far as kinks and cricks, I think you're right. But I think the same thing about chiropractic treatment-- you have to go regularly and consistently to get real benefit. Who can afford that?

As far as helping the chi flow freely through your body, and un-knotting muscles, the benefit of massage does outlast the day. I have to get it at the end of the day though-- if I have to go back to work or something, I quickly regain the tension and the benefit of relaxation is out the window.

I have a cold-- I've been told that massage can actually help to stimulate your immune system. But even though I have some "wellness" coverage plus a gift certificate that's been pinned to the bulletin board since Christmas, I have a hard time focusing on ME enough to go.

Re: How's it going? - 10/21/10 09:49 AM

I hear ya. I leave work an hour early for the chiro or I wouldn't do it. Work suffers a little, but the family won't. Hope ya get to feeling better. I could tell you were sick, your posts have been less than desirable the last few days.

Re: How's it going? - 10/21/10 10:54 AM

I went the physical therapy route for my neck and back problems. (covered by my insurance which does not cover massage and provided very limited chiropractory benefits). One of best decisions I've ever made.
