Puig

Puig - 07/11/13 09:56 PM

Am I the only one not in on the Puig mania? He's a fantastic player but I'm glad he's not representing the NL in the All-Star game this year. One month does not make a player in this game...just ask Justin Upton about May-now after his stellar April.

I am with you. Enjoy watching him play but I have seen a players light the league on fire for a short span and then just became roster fillers for an entire career.

Anybody remember this guy?

Puig has been accused by another player of being an arrogant prick

That probably describes about 80% of all MLB rosters.

Outside the Lines had a great special on him this afternoon(Puig). Seems he is a pretty arrogant dude.

I say put him in. Baseball needs a little "good" controversy and publicity.

He plays hard. Play aggressive. Has power, speed and a cannon arm. I think he's a fun guy to watch. I think a lot of the other players are pretty jealous considering he spent time in AA for only a couple of months, while others go from Rookie ball and work their way up.

If you put him in your costing another guy a spot who is more deserving.

Re: Puig - 07/12/13 10:41 AM

More deserving? There are like 32 or 33 guys on these rosters. Puig has been the best player in the majors for six weeks. That's enough.

New criteria for the Allstar game. Play well for 6 weeks.

Freddie Freeman over Puig on the All Star roster is a total [censored] joke

Re: Puig - 07/12/13 04:56 PM

Hanley has been equally as good, if not better, than Puig in the same timeframe.

You mean the most hyped player right?

I am not saying he is not deserving but Cabrera and H. Ramirez have both been better and for more than six weeks.

Anyone remember Clint Barmes' first month of b-ball back in April 2005...hit extremely well and got injured and never was the same. Now I will not wish injury on Puig who is a fantastic player, but that month was very similar in my opinion.

Baseball is littered with guys like this.

Anybody remember Kevin Maas or our own beloved KC Royal Bob "The Hammer" Hamelin?

The discussion of Puig has lead us to Bob Hamelin. Wow.

Re: Puig - 07/13/13 11:46 PM

Puig deserved to be selected, hell he earned his way actually.

The entire concept of the game "meaning something" is joke in the first place. I cannot believe baseball owners bought into the home-field concept as a reward to the winner of a completely bogus exhibition game. If there is a travesty surrounding the AS Game, that's it. Not Puig.
