"lol "almost" got to Daisuke.

this next game will be the first real game Tampa has ever faced this year. Fenway will kick their ass.

I'm really impressed by Garza's ERA, NOT.

Lester will dominate the Rayz"

I saw a Red $ox fan at Oak Park Mall tonight (while the game was on) I just pointed at him and laughed and laughed ...

I was buying a new Rays hat at ACE, why you ask?

There's a old greeter at the Wal-Mart on 119th and Metcalf, he always wears a Yankee hat ...

So Sunday afternoon I asked him if he hated Bo$ton, and he said "of course" then I asked if I brought him a Tampa Bay hat, would he wear it - and he said "YES!"

So I went and got one, and took it out to him, but he wasn't working tonight ...

You willing to buy a poor college student a Rays hat too? I'll sport it!

The only problem with no Bosox is the knuckleheads that'll point to Manny and go all Shaqrap on Boston. I'm not sure what irks me more, that Manny's in the post-season or he's going to get paid for basically throwing games.

Re: JD, time to come out of the closet! - 10/15/08 08:39 AM

Hopefully Shields/Kazmir/Garza can get 1 win out of the next 3 games.

10-18-2007: C.C. Sabathia loses to Josh Beckett
10-20-2007: Fausto Carmona loses to Curt Schilling
10-21-2007: Jake Westbrook loses to Daisuke Matsuzaka

The 3 best pitchers on the roster couldn't get it done for us. Hopefully the Rays have a better fate.

Does not appear either one of Manny's teams will be in the post season. As far as Sox fans whining about Manny did them in I say B.S. The Sox are getting the crap beat out of them because the starting pitching has been crap vs the Rays and Manny would not have changed that.

Uhhhh they definitely choked. You don't blow a 7 run lead without choking.

Re: JD, time to come out of the closet! - 10/17/08 12:11 AM

They choked but they've got two more at home, so if they don't win those, then they will have seriously choked.

That was F'ing ridiculous last night. C'mon Rays. I just don't want to see another Damn Boston comeback. The good news is Boston has not held the Rays under what 7 runs in the entire series? Last night bad Boston starting pitching got lucky and won over bad bullpen pitching.

I don't get it either. It means they are still playing. It still means the CrapSox have a chance (slim) but still better than no chance at all. So again, how is it meaningless?

Maybe it's meaningless until whoever wins four first?

I don't get it either.

While I think the Rays will win tomorrow, you can't (unfortunately) count the Sawks out yet.

Re: JD, time to come out of the closet! - 10/17/08 01:04 PM

Did last nights win prolong the series, yes. Can boston win two in TB, no. Hence the meaninglessness.

I guess the only thing last night did accomplish was to keep the Rays playing while the Phillies rest up.

Because it is hard to do, and it is rarely done.
Posted by: jayhwk01

Re: JD, time to come out of the closet! - 10/17/08 01:12 PM

Agreed it is very hard but not impossible. What scares me is much of this Sox is largely the same crew that did it before so they already believe it. The Rays know that too so I hope it does not get into their heads.
Posted by: sevenyearhawk

Re: JD, time to come out of the closet! - 10/17/08 01:28 PM

point of order ...not quite the same crew that did it before, and no place is tougher for visiting teams than the Trop (turf, catwalks, etc)

That said, the longer that game wore and (and this series) I've got a bit of concern because the Bo$ton hitters are getting used to Tampa pitchers.
Posted by: larryb

Re: JD, time to come out of the closet! - 10/17/08 01:33 PM

The Carmines have had a tough go of it in the Trop this season but the series is far from over.

I give the Rays all the credit in the world. They have played some great ball this year. Win or lose the Series it was on of the best seasons I have seen a team have since the Braves went from worst to first.

No not exactly the same crew I agree but many of the same parts including the coaching staff. It looked to me like the Rays bullpen guys were all overthrowing last night. It was like they thought they could throw three strikes on one pitch. SETTLE DOWN FELLAS.
