Yes, before Dean, there was Frank McGuire. In was McGuire who recruited a kid from Brooklyn named Larry Brown. It was McGuire that created the pipeline to NY that Dean embellished to create his fiefdom.

UNC won a Helms Championship back in the '20s, the year after we got through winning 'em. Tus Ackerman was their coach, I believe. Just kidding on that last part.
