too late for score. Defense is terrible. Another dropped interception.

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 11:43 AM

Obvious 2 hand push in the back to spring the punt returner for a TD. We're bad enough without the refs missing an obvious call that gives them a score.

68-0 KU to..............lose

Terrible offense, terrible defense, terrible special teams. A complete team.

Missed block in the back on that one and a missed knee down on Reagor's big return. We don't need help in shitting our pants in this game.

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 12:11 PM

Our D looks like they're completely surprised at the O TCU is running...it's only the same exact O they've been running for 4 or 5 years now. Guys completely out of position. Guys not assignment sound and on top of all of that guys getting just flat out beat. All adds up to making TCU look like a top 5 O in the nation and us getting just absolutely destroyed. F'ing joke!

Amazing how many anticipated defensive movements by tcu turns out to be ideal placement for each play....

Of course the TV guys didn't catch it until several minutes later.

Actually easy $ to be made today. Team dropping out of top 25 by loss to instate team and playing at home against low unranked team.

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 12:21 PM

Missed interference call on long pass to #8. Defender grabbed his arm before ball arrived. Perfect throw by Stanley.

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 12:29 PM

This is setting up to be the worst loss in 5 years for KU and that's saying something.

I think that play must have been their 1st incomplete pass.
Posted by: Kman_blue

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 12:32 PM

Correction, according to the announcers, that was their 2nd incomplete pass.

We can't defend a pass against the worst passing team in our conference. We're gonna get just plastered by every team in the conference with this kind of shitty pass D. We already knew we had some problem defending the run and now we can't even defend the GD pass!

This is a pathetic effort and coaching job right now...TCU isn't this good!

Noticed refs on the OU - TTech game missed a couple very obvious calls also...man have they stopped training refs for D-1 games or are they just plucking guys out of the peewee league to ref now? Just some terrible refereeing going on.

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 12:54 PM

The team is no better this year than those of the last 10 years. Again getting totally embarrassed. This is our 4th different head coach and the results are the same.

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 01:01 PM

Pooka doesn't look nearly as explosive as he did last year. Wonder if he's got a little injury or something slowing him down just a bit.

Then again, we keep trying to run him up the middle this year and don't do much to get him the ball in space where he can do more. But on that last play where he did have it in space he just looked a bit slower and more indecisive than he did before.

Got lucky as hell there...another WR with nobody within 5 to 10 yards of him.

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 01:12 PM

Refs compound our pathetic play and fragile ego. Can't even get a 1st down, let alone a score in this game.

Great play by Harris there.

Come on you stupid ass announcers! Stop saying that TCU guys just didn't do this or that there instead of giving some credit to the KU defenders who just made good plays! I know we've sucked ass all day long, but Harris and Sampson.

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 01:49 PM

WTF!!!!!!! That's a FLAG!!

These refs are a bunch of piss poor amateurs!

I get it, the game is over, but come the F on! It's your job to ref the damned game, so do your GD job!

SMU must have good offense because TCU defense couldn't stop them all game. But, we do suck.

Eff off announcers!!

Give our guys some credit when they deserve and Gardner deserved it there!!

Yeah, the game has been a lopsided embarrassment for KU, but that was a hell of a play by Gardner!

A glimmer of a bright future for the freshman Gardner.

IMHO coach Miles needs to hand over 100% control of the O to our O coaches...when he's let them control the plays we've excelled, when he hasn't we've struggled.

We gotta go RPO O 100% of the time and we'll find ways to score. This I formation 1990's smash mouth stuff just doesn't work and hasn't worked anywhere for a decade or more.

The most disappointing thing to me is the huge step backwards the team took today. Last week at least they were competitive and showed some fight

I did not watch the game, but did we revert to the I formation for this game? If so WHY?!?! The RPO seemed to be working.

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 05:40 PM

We did a mix, but yes we did still run the I formation up the gut crap and yes it still fails miserably. My gripe is we've seen enough of that to know it won't work for this team and we shouldn't see any of it anymore this year (or ever as far as I'm concerned).

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 05:54 PM

Yeah that is disappointing. Maybe Coach Miles was concerned about TCUs speed on D (which he should be), and wanted to try to get blockers ASAP so they couldn’t roam free. Not what I would have done but I am just trying to figure out what he was thinking.

Let’s talk about Stanley. 12 of 29. 84 yards. That’s not even a decent high school percentage or yardage. He is not elusive, continues to throw into double coverage and he is woefully inaccurate. Will we ever recruit a big 12 caliber QB. In an era when passing is more prolific in college and the nfl than it ever has been, KU has for years struggled to move the ball against big 12 opponents. Gill, CW,Beaty, or Miles... different coach but same results.

Guys, I know this was rough today. Nobody likes to be on the receiving end of something like this. But we didn't get here over night, and we are not getting out of it over night either. We have run coaches out of here like a sick old lady goes through tissues. Its gonna take time to right the ship. Miles deserves at least 5 years to get this on track.

Nobody is calling for Miles head. Just saying to date nothing has changed under his tutelage. We have sucked for years and we continue to suck. All those that thought getting rid of Beaty was going to solve our problems instantly were sadly mistaken. I don’t see any difference on the field this year versus last year so far.

No one was talking about getting rid of coaches. In general I like what Coach Miles has done especially in regards to recruiting. That will pay off in the end. KU was a little hurt on defense by Prox being hurt, but it was a good learning experience for Potter.

That said this game I am disappointed Coach Miles. He seemed to go away from what has worked the past couple games. I am disappointed KU did not put up much of a fight after the win against BC and the close game against WVU.

I am not fully sold on Koenning. I would have liked to see what Lindsey would have done. I do think we need to stick with Koenning for consistency sake.

Not the biggest fan of Stanley, and I will be glad when he is no longer an option. Right now it looks like he is what KU has to work with so I will root for him while he is in there.

This is a football message board. We talk about the team. We talk about what we like, and what we don't like. After getting boat raced 51 to 14 there is probably not much to say that we liked, and guess what there isn't.

Can you list the people posting here who thought Miles was the instant solution? Even Uncle Ben’s White Rice mix takes time track.

KU fans have been burned too long to expect an instant solution. Honestly I think KU is doing as good as they can. In fact I think if KU had not hired Miles there would be no talk at all, because everyone would be so apathetic about them. Over the fact we are even talking about KU is a win in and of itself.

I am down with Miles, but I would like him to stay out of the offense. I don't want any head coach doing coordinator duties.

Lincoln Riley? Andy Reid?

Re: GTS: Jayhawks vs Horned Frogs - 09/28/19 10:11 PM

Just the opposite - I'd like Miles to take over the OC duties for the rest of the season. If nothing else, it would keep the opposition wondering WTH is coming next. Also, mix in a couple of the younger guys at QB. Build for the future.

Lies. TCU last year was a one point victory that wasn’t expected until 10 minutes left in game. BC was by how many points? Plus this entire season isn’t over dude.

Oh, I'm more than good with coach Miles as our head man. He's still a very good head coach IMO and I'm glad we have him. He obviously needs time to turn things around and hope he stays at KU for the foreseeable future.

My complaint has been and still is his involvement with controlling the O we run. I just don't think his offensive philosophy works in today's game, and I believe we've got some really good modern offensive minds on the staff who showed they can get it done when given more control (the BC game) vs. less control with Miles controlling more of it (the Coastal Carolina game).

I know it can work, but I am still not in favor of it in general. To me the head coach has enough on his plate as it is that the OC should be calling the game. I will say there is a notable exception for those larger decisions, i.e. going for it on 4th, kicking a field goal vs punting, etc.

Plus I don't ever recall anyone saying that running an offense was Coach Miles strong suit. In fact everything I have heard is it a weakness.

Coach speak:
Halftime...
OK boys, they plastered us in the first half. That's done. So now we come out in the second half 0-0 and win that.
First half 0-38.
2nd half 14-13.
The bright side. Things are looking up!

Doesn't matter what offensive scheme we use if the line can't block and the QB can't make plays. Gonna be ugly Saturday, like 72 hung on us.
