Nice pass rush on that 3rd down.

That was a nice pass from Ford

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 11:34 AM

Sucks that Wise had the face mask when it should have been a sack. Coverage by DB's doesn't look any better so far. Miller wasn't strong enough to handle that RU WR on the TD pass.

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 11:39 AM

Sims drops a perfect pass from Ford that would have been a 1st down, so frustrating.

Not able to see the game but hope Willis gets a series or two

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 11:53 AM

Seems like we're giving Tyrone Miller a trial by fire.

He gets his ass kicked repeatedly, but it seems like he never leaves the field.

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 11:53 AM

Goodman with some pressure and Allen in the right place to take advantage with the pick. And of course Ford gives it right back. Beaty needs to just start playing Willis and get it over with.

Great 2nd effort from Kinner for the score.

They way we manage our qb's is very confusing....

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 12:15 PM

Same with RBs.

Mann breaks off 35 yards and then back to the bench.

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 12:17 PM

Goodman with the horse collar on 3rd down. Gotta give credit for KU's consistency at snatching defeat from the mouth of victory on the reg.

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 12:19 PM

I feel like qb's should be given their positions on the depth chart and be allowed to work stop switching our backup and why burn Willis redshirt if hes not gonna be the number 2 all year.

This is what 2 weeks of preparation has gotten us.......yikes.

Luckily I had the option to add BTN to my cable package for today and will cancel it later today for a $2 add on fee.

On a positive note RU running the ball might keep them in the low 40's - moral victory for our D?

Until we find someone with some nuts to tackle and plug a fing hole...this is what you'll see from our defense all season!!!

Yup its pretty depressing.

Who wants to come to Kansas to learn THAT kind of defense? Our DC is the biggest fing hole out there.

Did they really just go for it instead of kicking a field goal

Best quip on streaming online was "my bladder created more pressure tailgating than our defense did all game!" Does the term historically bad all time mean ANYTHING to CB?
Posted by: Josh2408

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 02:26 PM

Gotta admit lots of things to be proud of today, just need to be more consistent. Defence still something to be desired however Tyron Miller is gonna be a stud. Pass Rush was actually decent today got some good pressure. The QB switching has too stop like yesterday. What the HELL happened to Kinner today?
Posted by: pizzanbeer

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 02:36 PM

RU's DL and LB's is what happened to Kinner.

I'm proud we lost the worst P5 non conference game of all time.

so you dont think their were things to be proud of today? A lot of positives

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 03:04 PM

Defense on the field again way too much. They did produce 3 turnovers. Surprised we didn't put more in the box since we knew Rutgers would run every time. Offense did a poor job of picking up corner and safety blitzes. Take away Goodman's bonehead horse collar and we lose by only one score.

just like Rice is gonna give Baylor all they can handle, My point is they played their best game of the year offensively and defensively even though they lost. If they can figure out how to sustain drives they can be really good you know that. Their is nothing wrong with what im saying

Brosef, no problem with what you're saying. I respect the optimism. Just don't agree. But hell, I hope you're right and I'm wrong.

they will never get better if they keep turning over coaches and not giving beaty at least 4 years
Posted by: KUCO_VOC

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 04:44 PM

Not 5 now, so now you think 4? I think Beaty is a slug that will be ok if he gets a QB out of no where, has a new DC that can recruit and coach in the next year and he becomes an edgy type of coach. Petrino edgy.

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 04:49 PM

Because it will take years 3-4 to get fully loaded again after the last 2 douchbags pretending to be coaches. Beaty is a good coach

100% agree

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 05:18 PM

Beaty needs to be allowed 5 years to attempt his turn around at the least just to give us continuity barring a bunch of FB player arrest or bad academic's he should retain his job. This coaching carousel has got to stop if we get rid of him in two years who worth a [censored] is going to want to replace him anyways NO ONE! But if we end his 5th year and he hasn't won more than 4 games we should be prepared to let go but until that year 5 ends we must march on.
Also he is well liked by most of the fans has a passion for the team and has a favorable contract there are worse coach's to lose under.

With what do you agree? That we should ignore blown assignments, poor coaching, bad tackling? Because some guy with a coaches hat will get us better? Gameday announcers call us the biggest sham of a program with a nameless faceless coach no one knows.

Edit: all fact no fiction

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 05:40 PM

I understand what your saying KUCO but at this point who can we get to come coach here and why do you already want him fired after 3 games? How do we become less embarrassing by firing him and bringing in another no name coach because no one is going to want to come here......On that note i wont say beaty will lead us to the promise land but he can't make it any worse.

But there are some things i do question why not redshirt all the freshman you can. Its obvious we were gonna be awful this year and why burn Willis redshirt that made no freakin sense at all......He has made some questionable calls and i am deeply depressed about the football team i love but another coaching change would be even more disheartening........

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 06:28 PM

We covered the spread for the first time this year. That's good enough for me.
Posted by: jayhawk1985

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 06:29 PM

Adding on to my last post a little Fantasy land time! Pretending beaty does get all 5 years to turn this sh*t fit into something resembling a football team he would be best served keeping his juco's to the absolute minimum for this next recruiting class redshirting all the freshman that come in and starting them all for the next three years you should at least have a team that can win its non conference games in his last year.....
Posted by: 58hawk

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 06:33 PM

The only problem I have in redshirting the freshmen is who else do we have to play! We are already terribly short on scholarship players and why not give them the experience for next year. That's all we need is for a bunch of redshirt freshmen with no game experience. Then you are talking about another 0 or 1 win season again next year.

Time to play walk ons vs any scholarship players. Tell DB to return in three years as this clusterfuc should be CB record of 0-35 by then.

This was caused by Weis.

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/26/15 10:08 PM

Don't get me wrong I think Weis is a hell of a Coordinator but he is not a very good head coach, should've stayed in the NFL. If you can't have a good team at Notre Dame their is probably a reason for that your not very good
Posted by: KUCO_VOC

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/27/15 01:14 AM

My point isn't keep the old guy but that you are not the only one who is willing to do this other & over for FIVE Years!!
Posted by: calvink

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/27/15 10:13 AM

Some posters want 5 years for Beaty, but he has no track record as a HC or turning around a program.. Other problem is that season ticket sales are flat and group ticket sales are down from last year. As attendance decreases, Zenger's already warm seat will get hotter and hotter.
A new AD may not have the loyalty to Beaty that Zenger has.

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/27/15 05:56 PM

I can tell you that Weis is one helluva salesman...Sold us a bad bag of goods down the river for $12.5 million.
Posted by: Josh2408

Re: Game 3-KU @ Rutgers: Game Thread - 09/27/15 07:41 PM

And we and Notre Dame still have to pay that piece of crap, should be like regular people jobs you get fired you relinquish the rest of your pay
