This is interesting, and the picture is HILARIOUS! However, I don't believe it. Could be true, but..... meh.

Hmm... I believe the toupee part but that doesn't look like our coach. If anything, his face (I'm not talking about hair, I'm talking about face) looks younger now than in the second picture. Did he get a facelift too?!?

I read that article two years ago. Yawn.

Old news. I have noticed that at games he is constantly checking the back. I realized that it is not just a rug that sits on top, but a big old wig! I think he had it dyed mid-season. It's kind of obvious. Maybe he thinks looking "young" helps with recruiting, but I don't think there's anything wrong with embracing baldness. If Martelli can...oh, whatever, to each his own.

I don't care if Self has a live Capuchin monkey on his head and feeds it peanuts during the game if he can win the big ones and stays with us longer than ole Roy!

Absolutely. Keady, Martelli, Sutton, K, and Self... each has his own sense of "style." Of course, a monkey could be distracting during timeouts, and if the peanut shells got all over AFH floor... what a mess!

What do you think he'll do, say, 10-15 yrs from now? Is he going to get a thinner toupee to make it look more like a natural progression, or will he just say "screw it" at some point and lose the rug forever?

"Illini fans are finally coming clean about his hair. Or lack thereof. I had always wondered if Self's perfect coif was some sort of hair system. When you see him on TV next time, in his little Kansas sweater vest, see if you can spot the double hairline he has above his neck."
That made me chuckle.

Anybody who says baldness should be embraced is probably bald themselves.

Yeah really. Doesn't matter as long as he wins. Do you think he reads these boards or avoids them?

Oh, no. Not a monkey on this coach's back, too.

This yawner has been covered as much as Mangino's "weight compromised" look.
Take a look at the avatar.
