I didn't really like the way he sang it. Too dramatic.

he actually said "i love this country" after land of the free, but regardless it was a pretty so-so nation anthem. still pretty cool to have a celebrity sing at half though

He was spinning in circles and clutching his fists way too much for me. He would've been better to just play it on a guitar instead of singing it methinks.

You should have heard him on the pregame radio...hilarious.
The announcers had to shut him up a few times.
Kept talking about how he's never seen so many beautiful girls, and his wife let's him look but not touch.
Then he goes into the point spread, and the radio guys about crapped their pants. Hilarious!

I heard the radio interview too, and it was pretty funny. He explained that he had been wanting to come to a game at AFH for several years. But his best line was when David and Josh first asked him about what he was doing here, and he replied, "well, I got two tickets to paradise, so here I am." You gotta love that!

Money sings
National recording artist Eddie Money sang the national anthem.
Money, who lives in southern California, had the time of his life attending his first KU basketball game.
“I’m in Allen Fieldhouse. This is where Wilt Chamberlain played. I just saw Danny Manning. I had a chance to meet Gale Sayers. I’m in heaven,” exclaimed Money, whose hits include “Take Me Home Tonight,” “Two Tickets to Paradise,” “Shakin’” and “Baby Hold On.”
Money, 60, said in a pregame interview with the Journal-World that he was nervous about singing the anthem.
“I played with the (Rolling) Stones, and I wasn’t nervous like I am now,” he said. “The only song I get nervous about singing is the Star-Spangled Banner. I sang it at a Chiefs game a couple years ago when they played the Raiders. This is the highlight of my life.
“My son goes to junior college. I wish he was here today to see how beautiful the girls are who go to school in the Midwest. I’ve been to UCLA, all over the place. The prettiest girls in the country are right here.”
Money, by the way, performed the national anthem at the Liberty Bowl, which is when he “ran into some friends who are from KU.” They had his agent contact KU about singing the anthem at a game.

Then the game started and Cole was Money.

They interviewed him on 610 this morning with the new host. I can't remember his name, and am too lazy to look it up.
Josh mentioned about how they had to cut him off last night a couple times in the pre-game interview and that he brought up the spread of the game. He said they both almost freaked since it was affiliated with the university and that he wasn’t suppose to talk about things like that. He said they both about freaked when he brought it up.
Pretty funny interview. Bagged on his wife a couple of times and just kind of talked about his experience and how much he loved "The Allen field house" as he kept calling it. Kind of a funny dude. Pretty ate up though.

"Eddie Money (born Edward Joseph Mahoney, March 21, 1949) is an American rock singer-songwriter who found success in the 1970s and 1980s with a string of Top 40 hits and platinum albums. Rock impresario Bill Graham said of Money "Eddie Money has it all...Not only can he sing, write and play, but he is a natural performer."[1]
After becoming a police officer, like his father, during the late 1960s,[2] Money began to be interested in music, and eventually ended his law enforcement career in favor of becoming a musician. He moved to Berkeley, California and became a regular at area clubs, where he eventually got enough attention to secure a recording contract with Columbia Records. Later in the 1970s, he charted with singles such as "Baby Hold On" and "Two Tickets to Paradise". [3] Money continued his successes and took advantage of the MTV music video scene in the early 1980s with his humorous narrative videos for "Shakin'" and "Think I'm in Love", but his career began to fail him after several unsuccessful releases in the mid-1980s, accompanied by his struggles with drug addiction.
Money made a comeback two years later in 1986 and returned to the mainstream rock spotlight with the album Can't Hold Back, which featured a Ronnie Spector duet with "Take Me Home Tonight", which reached the Top 10, along with the hit "I Wanna Go Back". Money followed the album with another Top 10 hit, late 1988's "Walk on Water", but his Top 40 career ended when "I'll Get By" charted in 1992. During the 1990s and 2000s, Money continued to release numerous compilation albums along with several albums featuring new material. Today, he still tours the "Oldies" circuit regularly, often accompanied by other successful rock acts from his era, and has also made several television appearances on American sitcoms. "

I saw Eddie Money perform at the Bi-Center in Salina in 1982. Rockin show for an 11-year old to attend. We took what we could get in Salina at the time.
I think it's great KU got a rock star like that to come and give props to the University and team like he did.
