Really ... WTF?!
Paramount Pictures has announced plans to fast-track a musical remake of Footloose, with plans to start filming in March of 2010.

Maybe Kevin Bacon should play the preacher ...

Can't be any worse than the first Gawd awful version.

My thoughts were more about Hollywood in general than this particular movie ...
But I guess I shouldn't be that surprised ... Batman and Superman have already been "recycled"
What's next ... the Princess Bride?
(what brought this all on was my using the Footloose soundtrack to wake up Big Jay this morning.)

Yeah, my brother and I used to fire up the front-loaders and play chicken on the gravel road that ran past our house when Dad was out in the fields combining & so couldn't see us. Not! Farming is lethal enough without intentionally trying to kill yourself by running a tractor at top speed at another tractor also going top speed directly toward you. That's one of the stupidest movie scenes I've ever seen. That movie jumped the shark before the second reel.

They're supposedly redoing Red Dawn and RoboCop.

I wonder if Kevin Bacon lies awake nights regretting doing that movie.

Every movie you love will be re-made before you die, and they will all suck.
May be worthy of another thread, but how many remakes are better than the original? John Carpenter's "The Thing" is all I can think of right now.

Probably not when he gets his monthly royalty check.

Batman and Superman actually were much better in the remakes IMO but then again the story lines and the directions you can go especially with Batman is so much better. Footloose...not so much.

Both versions of the Christian Bale Batman were better than the first set.
Superman was better the second time around (Sorry Christopher)
Cape Fear
Not many tho'....

I thought the new Superman was complete rubbish. The Nolan Batmans were at least as good as the first Burton.

I thought the Lex character was far better in the new one. As far as storyline I liked it just because it did not rehash the same old story.
