Help me out folks. Wasn't there a team called "UK" that we played back in 1989? Yes, I'm almost certain of it. I think we scored the most points we've ever scored in a half and maybe the most points we've ever scored in a game against that team.

It was truly a strange game. I never could understand the meaning of the UK coach's hand signals. He kept calling for the #1 play with his middle finger directed toward our coach. Oh well, I don't think his players understood it either.

There used to be a basketball school named Kentucky - and it did have a long and proud history.

Unfortunately, it is no more. In making its current coaching hire it has traded decades of tradition for the quick fix. It has sold its soul.

I'm not saying Calipari won't be successful. He will bring in strings of one-and-dones and might even eventually have another shot at a title. For one year. But there will be no Kentucky team, the university and the state are not important, it is all about Cal.

The school should now be referred to as UCL - The University of Calipari at Lexington.

Nope. Lot of teams with Wildcat mascots though. Hard to keep them all straight.

The problem with the NIT is that it truly is the nobody's interested tournament. Anyone that made the NCAA has bigger things on their mind, and anyone that made the NIT is depressed b/c they didn't make the NCAA tournament. I think the NIT final was beaten by a rerun of Laverne and Shirley last year.

Prolly. But not the WNIT. That tournament should be taken seriously and as a guage for where a program is headed.

I don't think Kentucky has electricity yet, which may explain this.
